we booked our venue just over 2 yrs out from our date, our celebrant about the same time and i have ordered my dress it's a Alfred Angelo 1612 in ivory and champagne, i have also done a lot of DIY stuff, our STD cards, our invites will take the most time as they will be scrolls will post pics at some time.
so with just under 12 months to go, it will go quick.

HI all, just an update... I tried my dress on last week, absolutly love it!!! So thats on layby :)

Also ordered my flowers today. Im going for silk flowers rather than real flowers as I wanted orchids & tulips but was told by numerous florists that they wouldnt survive the humidity of maggie island in June. I went to Desflora in Hallam, Vic and the lady there was amazing. I told her what i wanted and picked some orchids and she did the rest. The little bunch she grabbed & arranged for me to get an idea looked amazing and im so happy!!!

Ive got a quote from a DJ this week so i can organise that soon too... Then the only other main thing i have to organise is a cake. IM heading up to townsville & maggie island in November so I will organise the cake then.

All in all, not much left to organise. Choosing my flowers today was awesome because it made me choose my theme. I was going chocolate brown & blue but am now going purple & black.

Yay :)

Leah.

These are my plans so far:

The wedding date is set for 12 June 2010.
Guest numbers: approx 80 people (to be confirmed)

Wedding Reception to be held at the International Room at Skycity casino/hotel- we've gone for the Pure Indulgence package, so everything will be taken care of. we just have to get the wedding cake :)

I want to have a fusion wedding (Indian + Western) so the color theme I have in mind is white, gold & red. Nothing too fancy or Bollywood style.

I've had one appointment with the bridal shop and after trying on 5 dresses, I was sent home to do more research. I want to have an Indian inspired fusion dress. Something like this maybe:
Image

I also love this idea and most likely will be using it:

I went to Spotlight over the weekend to buy some paper & cardstock for mock-up invitations. But I was just absolutely blown away by the prices!! $12.95 for 5pack embossed papers! And I plan on making at least 100!!! I refused to buy any, and told myself I'd order the stationery online.

Think I'm on track so far... 8O

Hi Leah,
for your cake you could try Marie smith she works from home and her cakes are awersome, she is in townsville. it will be too warm in Townsville for your Tulips but i think orchids would be ok as they grow up there. I lived in Townsville for 17 yrs and i miss it

Have you been to office works I found their prices reasonable and i got all our paper for our save the date cards and invites from there, for our invites I'm making scrolls and i got handmade silk paper for them which goes thru the printer fine, they then get hand sewn onto umm sticks lol with wooden beads on the end then rolled up and tied with either ribbon or sealing wax indented with a stamp, to match our medieval / Celtic theme

Hey if you're wanting a DIY kit for a reasonable price, well i thought they were very reasonable for what I wanted, and arrived so quickly, you could try this site. The lady's really helpful if you need extra stuff too... this is where i got mine. You get the option of them to make them up, or you can buy the DIY kit which comes with all the stuff you need & instructions...

Hope that helps :)

Mine are going very well, I picked up my dress on Tuesday, better than i could hope for, I got some flowers and stuff from Floral land, I am still in the process of getting our guest book made up and put together, I have the flower girl dress already, my MOH has her circlet and shoes and possibly a long cape (medieval theme) still have to send out the rest of the STD cards and start making the scrolls for the invites, need to get hold of the lady who's making our cake. still looking for hair and make up lady/guy. still need shoes for me lol,
but its all comming together.

How are your plans going?? :D

Hi guys!

I too am a June 2010 bride. Am getting married 26th June in Maleny, QLD.

I can't believe most of you have your dresses organised already! Freaked me out much? I wasn't planning on buying anything until summer!

But I do have venues, photographer, vehicle, flowers, makeup and hair organised. And am hoping to have chosen the celebrant by next Friday. You've all definately made me feel alot better about having booked everything already, most of my mates and family have been play picking on me!!!

Cheers

We're really lucky.. we are only having 30 people, to avoid all the family dramas (yikes!). So our reception is coming to a grand total of $2,500 from canapes to meals to entertainment to drinks. So excited!! We set a maximum budget of $10,000 and it looks like its going to come in easily at $7,000.

$3,000 extra to spend on our honeymoon!!!!!!

We've got almost everything set now, just need clothes and a celebrant ha ha. I've just about finished doing up the STD's.. but I just want to know.. what is everyone's opinion on which month we should send out our invitations??

Cheers!

I have sent some STD cards out already, and was thinking maybe March / April for the invites so they get plenty of time to work out on what they are wearing as we are having a theme wedding and our guests are to come dressed for the part.

Thanks for that snowravin, I'm now going to work my timetable around sending the invites out in March. And, wow.. what sort of themed wedding are you having?? Do you have any pics of your ideas up somewhere??
