I've been reading some of the threads for upcoming weddings and things seem to be getting frantic closer to the date, so I'm glad to be an Aug 2010 b2b!

Wedding all booked in for the 7th, so more than 11 months to plan it all.

Hi Nellz, I'm actually in Melb and it's been rainy and freezing here! So I'm hoping it isn't so cold this time next year!

So far I've booked the place, got a photographer....and that's it. I've got ideas for some stuff (dress, cake) but I think I have a long way to go...

What about you? How's your planning going?

Hey nellz, how did your reception place go?

I've been doing heaps of research too - most of this stuff is fun to look at online and in shops. But I know what you mean, the time will fly. Especially with the things that *aren't* fun to arrange.

Like for me, getting a band is going to be tough cos FH family will probably want some Macedonian music (he's half Macedonian) and I want some really good house type music to dance to. So this is something I can't handle thinking about!

I know if I don't force myself, all the annoying things will be left til the last minute!

I'll be a crazy winter bride next year too. Saturday, August 21. The main reason being we want a late summer European holiday/honeymoon. :)

Thanks! :)

We're just going to do something local to where we live and have some friends who own a venue... nothing to special. :)

Hey!! We booked the reception last friday! We absolutely loved the place. So exciting!! Now onto the church.......... lol :o

On the music, maybe start with the macedonian music, then after hes had a few drinks switch it over to the house music... lol.
I'm pretty lucky my FH and I have the same taste in music, so it'll be all the guests that will suffer, not us! hehe

Awesome, I'm same date as you, turbo. :)

Yeah the time is definitely dragging at the moment! FH and I are planning on getting as much done as early as possible though, to avoid last minute stress...but we're kinda having little bursts of motivation and then doing nothing for ages.

So far booked ceremony/reception venue, flowers and photographer.

What about you? How's the planning going so far?

Next big ones for us to tackle is the music and cake.

Thanks for the suggestion, Nellz! I think that's a good idea. Talked it over with FH and we're thinking a Macedonian band, and then a DJ for the rest of the night.

Hi -

We have booked the ceremony at the Marble Bar and reception at the Tea Rooms and photographer! FH is organising our celebrant...And we went to the flower markets exactly a year from our date - there were heaps of gorgeous flowers so Im doing my own flowers :| with the help of my flatmate!

We have a DJ included in our package so that is booked for us! And we were supposed to be meeting with Faye Cahill for our cake but I just found out Im Celiac so I have put that off for a bit...

Well, we've just put a tentative booking in for August 8th 2010 at the Villa Rosa in Leichhardt, Sydney. Tentative because we want to have the ceremony in the park across the road, which means booking through the council, and we can't call them on the weekend - but otherwise, we're pretty set on that date. It's early enough in the uni semester that I should be able to take a bit of time off for a local honeymoon (we're going to do something big and overseas in the not too distant future, but not immediately after the wedding), without it interfering with assessments etc.

Aaand it includes cake, dj, mc, etc, so don't need to worry about those too much. So, dress and reception venue down - so much more to go!

Hi Ladies, my wedding is booked for Friday 20th August 2010. I am so excited and pretty much all organised. I have booked ceremony, reception, photographer purchased my dress, started buying vases for our lolly buffet and purchased BM and GM presents. I know i'm a bit over organised, but at least I know exactly how much I need to have saved for our wedding. I'm not sure how I'm going to go with our BM dresses as one of my BM is pregnant and will be due 6 weeks before our wedding. I wanted strapless cocktail dresses, but somehow I don't think that will go to well with a new mums body esp since she is already a solid girl. So do I have a wedding twin??

Welcom Eslyssa and Betsy!!! Its so exciting when you set your date - It finally becomes real!

Nearly 9 months to go girls! Still time is going relatively slow for me..

Betsy - There is no such thing as being too organised!

Here is where Im at:

Ceremony and Reception booked - Reception includes linens and DJ
We have also booked 2 bands (My FH is a muso so we are having our friends play! in addition to our DJ)
My FH got really excited at Ikea and bought all the vases for our guest tables plus that same weekend he took me to the flower markets so we are also DIYing our flowers and Cake! :?
Got our Celebrant (Actually got 2 celebrants our first choice who is a personal friend has just been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer  )
I have booked my seamstress who will be making most of my wedding and reception dress (im designing them)
Got my Bridesmaids brunch at our reception venue in early November so will also get very close to getting the BM dresses that day too!
We have also booked our Video/Photographer.

So busy working and Saving as we are paying for our wedding ourselves!
