elouise, I had no idea about the order that things should go in either. This is what the wedding organiser for the casino has given us. We are just following this as it is way easier and she knows what she is doing as it is her bread and butter. I hope that this helps

1730 All candles to be lit
1750 Banquets Supervisor to check Pavilion before opening doors
1800 Reception commences
1800 Jupiters staff to meet bridal party at front drive, take to room to refresh
1800 Beverage TAB commences
1810 MC welcome speech
1820 Bridal party arrive at reception
1820 MC announces bridal party arrival
1830 Buffet is served
1915 Top up drinks for speeches
1930 Speeches & toasting
2000 Cutting of the cake
2010 Bridal waltz
2040 Desserts are served
2040 Wedding cake is served
2045 Offer Tea & Coffee
2200 Bouquet & Garter toss
2300 All amplified music to conclude
0000 Event concludes
0000 Decorator onsite for bump out

andie, that's excellent. What a great, detailed timeline.
We were given one by our coordinator at the venue, but it was pretty vague and we will have to change a few things around so that we don't need to have the photographer there all night. As it is we will need to have him there for an hour more than planned.
But when it came to what order the bridal party should come into the reception or what order the speeches will be in or what music we wanted to the cake cutting, etc. we had no idea. That's why this forum has been my best friend the past few days

So we don't have the photographer there the whole time we are having a mock dance and cake cutting after the reception. According the the photographer that is the done thing these days.

For the entrance of the bridal party we are having
MOH and Best Man
Then the BM and GM
Finally us!

As for speeches we are keeping it traditional
Father of the Bride
Father of the Groom
Best Man
Groom

Nice and Short and cuts out the possibilities of I remember when ....... We are having no open mic!

Glad to see everyone else is stressing over the tail end things I am too!

Just chose the pieces for our modern string quartet for our wedding ceremony, I am walking down the aisle to 'what a wonderful world', as heard by our duet Sista strings here: http://www.sistamusic.com/library.htm

My H2B doesn't know that yet :) We are having our first dance to "kiss me" by sixpence none the richer (ive loved this song since I was 13 years old)

We only just started putting together our playlist for the reception.
As ive had a pretty different life, we have decided to do things for speeches a little untraditionally.
My father in law wants to be MC as he is super funny we said yes :) He won't be doing a formal speech, just talking throughout. The best man, my mum, my bridesmaids, groom and myself are all doing speeches. My speech is important to me as i have been so independent my whole life and want to say my own things.

I am a little nervous! NO open mic at ours either. And no speech by my father!

OK girls I am having a FREAK OUT!!

There is only two weeks left, TWO WEEKS 8O I have so much to do!

I have three A4 pages of things to do prior to getting to Townsville which is in SIX DAYS! I have no idea how I am going to get everything done. My boss has been lovely and allowed me to extend my annual leave to I don't have to try and fit in work next week. I am so worried that it is not going to get done :(

I hope that you are all well and are having a relaxing time :)

Tonight in one months time I will be exhaused and it will finally be our wedding night!
So many things to do, finishing decorations mainly, and I have my final wedding dress fitting next week! Kind of just want this whole thing to happen so we can get back to normal life. I know that sounds harsh and boring but I guess my friend having the brain tumour has really given me a reality check.

Anyway I picked up some foundation and skin cream from Chanel and I am MUCH more excited about giving my makeup a go on the day. I have also been watching video tutorials on the net giving me tips. Below is a crappy shot of how my eye turned out. This is without eyelash extensions and my false lashes, but you can kind of get the idea.

Your makeup looks great jessa. I would not even know where to start with applying makeup :)

I had my Kitchen Tea today - I wasn't really looking forward to it, but we had a lot of fun. We played some really silly games and it was a crack up seeing my grandma and FH's grandma playing along. I'm going to have to really think of something to do to thank the host of the party, because she did so much work to get it organised.

I spoke to the store about my dress and it still hasn't come in yet. I'm getting really frustrated but they assure me that it will be in by wednesday. I hope so, since I have my first fitting on thursday! 8O

oh elouise - fingers crossed that your dress is here for your fitting on thursday

jessa - you are so cleverdoing your own make up

well that's it for me - everything is paid for 8O 8O scary thought that our $20000 budget blew out to be $25000 and that is not including all the lil things that my mum & I have bought.

my sisters have gotten a dress off ebay which they are happy with - well i think. as my mum said to them, that I'm not going to care less if they don't find a dress as I have my dress and they are the ones that are going to look like idiots standing up there wearing nothing (gotta love my mum)

all i basically left to do is sort out music at the reception and write my speech!!

I have 6 days left to do everything before we leave!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

There are so many things I wanted to do but no longer have time for.

Oh well, just have to let them go.

I am annoyed and upset at my sister (MOH) tonight as she put me in a lot of awkward positions in regards to my wedding and assumed and told my dad things he would be doing which I actually didnt want him doing. Now I have to undo them. :( :x She doesnt get that now I am going to look like the bad guy. Puts me in a really awkward spot. At the beginning of the night when I was asked how the planning was going, I said that it was all coming along, lots still to do but not letting anything stress me. We'll I left feeling stressed and even had to hold back tears at one point.

Our budget went up a few thousand when we realised there were things we'd left off our original estimate

We also totally underestimated how much time it would take to put together the favours
We are less than half way through making up these things after working on them all evening yesterday and they are just little lolly jars with fabric tops and ribbon with a tag tied to them!

My FMIL and I managed to have a huge fight on Saturday night, but I'm glad it happened because now she knows how I feel about her meddling in the wedding plans and organising stuff before asking us. I'm hoping some good will come of it. Especially after hearing her ask FH yesterday what he wants to do on the morning of the wedding (because she never asked him that and just went ahead and planned stuff herself).

Loving the fact that in a month we will already be a few days into our honeymoon! :D

Still waiting for my dress though :(

I had my hens/bridal lunch on the weekend. Glad I did as it made me realise that I have to not worry bout everyone at the wedding.
My Nan did have a car accident on the way to lunch and my sister who is a bridesmaid had a major meltdown moment.
But other than that I had a really great time.
However I have woken up this morning very nervous and worried. I dont know weather it is because I realise that I only get one chance at these days or because I have so much to do. Glad you girls can give me some insight and I can realise it is normal to feel this way.
I think I am going to be a bit anxious for the next 5 weeks. Maybe I will lose some extra weight in this time as a bonus. :D :D :D

Hi ladies!

I hope all the wedding plannings are going well!!

Last week we had a groomsman pulled out of our wedding!! so that was stressful!!
Im still wndering why he though it was acceptable to do that!! BTW my FH is his groomsman in November!!
We have another groomsman who is being wonderful he is help FH with so much! so it all worked out!

I have been working hard and trying to get everything organised, sometimes I wish we waited a bit longer but then again we love our wedding date, and love how its all comming together.

this weekend its our meeting with the reception and also the church! we also have a meeting with the photographer where we will take him to the church to sort out the best places for photos.

Hope all is going well for you all!!
