We do not expect a gift however we know some people will want to. We are having a Treasure Chest so if you would like to donate towards a new bed, it would be welcomed. We also love cards as souveniers.

Did you end up sending them with the invitations?

We are using a website with online details on the wedding and on how to deposit towards our honeymoon, then printing the link to the website on the invitations. Hopefully the guests are internet savvy and can use it!

I know its been awhile, we really need to get this thread pumping the others are putting us to shame hehe. Well my plans are going well all major details are almost 100% organised, doing boys suits this week so fingers crossed its all good from there!!

Wow, i feel so behind!
I'm currently so frustrated with my wedding coordinator. With 5 months to go i have no idea where we are in terms of things booked/organised! He keeps telling me all is fine and we have plenty of time. I'm not sure whether they work on Daydream time or whether i should be freaking out??? I have contacted cake & flower place myself and got quotes, next i will be contacting the decor company! so much for having a wedding coordinator :x

I'd fire him and just do it yourself at this point!! That or scale back his work to just organising the set up on the day for you =D That way you have peace of mind knowing all the little things are taken care of. I have a really big detailed BSL if you'd like a copy?? Let us know how you go, always happy to help in whatever way I can.

Thanks Kristy. Just so frustrating as i thought having a wedding coordinator to organise your destination wedding is supposed to relieve stress not add to it! Just had a look through both yours and Tarz's s&t, funny as we are all having purple :lol:

LOL can't believe we all have purple what a happy coicidence =D

Generally a wedding co-ordinator should be helping you, is it someone that comes with the venue or someone you hired seperately? Where are you getting married hun maybe we can find some recs for a good co-ordinater?

Our wedding is at Daydream Island and get assigned a wedding coordinator to help with all the planning. Apparently they don't like to get quotes until 6 months before your wedding but i was told i would probably have them before Christmas! still waiting! I've since found out i'm not the only bride that is frustrated with this particular coordinator. All i can do is get quotes myself and keep hounding him.

Hi Augb2b,
The wedding planner sounds so frustrating :(

You may have done this already, however I would set up a meeting with them and yourself and FH, with a clear list of their responsibilities in say a spreadsheet. Make it very clear to the planner what dates each task needs to be completed, and get their input and agree together on a date for each item. Then keep all those dates in a spreadsheet, and update and send it weekly to the planner. That way you really have documented everything they say and they have less of an excuse to delay things!

I work as a project manager and I find this trick works when people working for me are not doing what they promised, or dragging the job late.

I was wondering when to send out the invitations... When are you girls sending out yours?

I read somewhere that they should be sent out 2 months before the wedding.
Were having our reception in a restaurant where we need to confirm numbers a month earlier, so not sure if 2 months is enough.

Tarz, your key themed invitations are beautiful! Did you make them?

I heard from him today and he has promised to call me on Saturday to go through things so fingers crossed we will have made some progress by early next week.
We have already sent our invites only because it's destination wedding and we wanted to give our guests plenty of time to organise flights and accom.
Are you having a big wedding? do you think a month is enough time for your guests to RSVP? maybe give them 6 weeks?

Yes you're right maybe 6 weeks at least is better to allow for RSVPs. Have to get moving and do the invitations now!
We have sent the invitations to the family in Italy already to give them more time.
We're not having a huge wedding, expecting around 100 guests. My FH has a huge family in Italy so we are having a second reception there so they can celebrate with us too, I'm so excited.

I'm sending mine out 3 months before and giving them 2 months to rsvp as I have overseas people invited as well =)

Speaking of invites, my stationary for them got posted a few days ago and I did a test print tonight, all ready to go for when the paper gets here, so excited!!
