Re: August 2012

Sun Apr 01, 2012 9:08 pm

I know it's a bit late to join but after almost 5 years of being engaged (5 years on Easter Sunday) we have finally set a date, well month of August this year! It's so exciting to finally have a time frame in mind. It won't be a major event. Small and simple. We'll be heading to the Melbourne Registry Office with our 2 witnesses and a photographer most likely around the beginning of the month. At the end of the month at my FMIL's 60th birthday we'll be announcing to everyone that we've finally tied the knot. We told her last week of our plans just so someone knew. We did have ideas of actually having the ceremony at the party but decided not to. I'll be going to the cheesecake shop this weekend for cake ideas as it will be half a birthday cake and half a wedding cake. It feels weird to finally be planning things but also that there isn't that much to plan. I put myself in charge of invites for the party so it makes up for not doing my own wedding invites. I made my first purchase last week, purchasing a hair clip. I hope to go dress shopping in the next couple of weeks with my witness which I'm nervous about. Well think that's it for now.

Nonsense its never too late to join ^_^

Welcome and congratulations on setting the Month!! I think it's sweet to do something so beautiful and simple, big or small it doesn't matter how you do them at the end of the day you get to be a Mrs to your beautiful Mr and that is what counts =)

Can't wait to see some dress piccies when you go shopping.

@Tarz, FH and I have picked all the music except our first dance, here is what we have:-

Walking down the Aisle: Over the Rainbow - Glee Version
Signing the registry/background music after the ceremony: Marry Me - Train, Lucky - Jason Mraz & Colbie Calliat & Speechles - The Veronicas (this last one is a maybe still)
Reception Entrance Music: Marry You - Glee Version
Bouquet Toss: One Way or Another - Blondie
Garter Toss: Mission Impossible Theme (pulling garter off) & Another One Bites The Dust - Queen (throwing garter)
Cake Cutting: Sugar Sugar - The Archies

For our first dance we are tossing up between: How Do I Live Without You - Trisha Yearwood and A Thousand Years - Christina Perri

Would also like to try and work these songs in somehow: I'm Yours - Jason Mraz, (I've Had) The Time Of My Life - Glee Version

Can you tell I love glee lol

We haven't chosen our songs yet, it's one of the next few jobs on the list though!

Is anyone here using Photoshop for your wedding invites? I have installed a trial version and created the invite however it will not allow me to print. Maybe I have some of the settings incorrect. Anyway if anyone has any ideas on how to do it, I would really appreciate it :)

Yeah I used photoshop for mine but not sure how I can help sorry =(

Whats happening when you try to print, any error messages or anything or just nothing goes? If so have you tried to test print something not from photoshop to see whether its isolated to photoshop or not.

Another question, I have tried to change the title of my show and tell page but it won't let me. Does anyone know how to change topics?
Thanks :)

Depends on the BM.

His neice is getting an orange watch (she loves orange)
My MOH is getting a nice jewellery box as she has being eyeing off mine for years
My sister is getting a special photo frame with sentimental words and she can pick a nice photo (that I will pay for to print) to put in.

It doesn't have to be the same.

I bought my BMs some beautiful earrings and a pearl bracelet, which will be their gift but also to wear on the day.

Other ideas which I looked into were cute clutches/evening bags and customized coat hangers. Etsy has lots of good options to get ideas as well!

Hi ladies, thought I'd finally join in :) Wedding date is August 18.

So far all that I've booked/paid for are..

Ceremony/Reception - Ryde Parramatta Golf Club
Wedding Dress - AA1136 purchased from A Brides Blessing (just today too)
I've ordered some samples from Cards and Pockets for my invitations
Grooms suit will be from Hugo Boss (he's already decided that lol)

I really need to catch up and cross some more things off the list, can anyone recommend a good checklist/to-do list so that I don't forget anything?

Hope to get to know you better over the coming months :)
