Hey hey :D

I'm an August 09 bride too :D We're getting hitched in Wollongong NSW

I'm feeling kind of lost at the moment though. Thought I had the venues picked out, just about to book when FH decides he wants a smaller wedding. Not such a big deal (I quite like the idea :) ) but the venue's minimum numbers were 100 and it looks like we'll only be having 30-40...

Ah well.. back to the drawing board :)

Oh that's a shame :( Good thing you have plenty of time to find a new venue :D

Our wedding is booked for 1st August 09 and I cannot wait. It's good to hear from other Aug09 brides and I'm sure we are all as excited (and impatient) as each other!!!!We are having the ceremony and reception at Sails on the Bay and hopefully we'll have a fanastic sunset as we exchange vows. Haven't started looking at dresses yet but really looking forward to it. Any suggestions of places in Melbourne that have plenty of size 16's to try on would be very much appreciated.

Just a question, when is everyone planning to have their 'engagement' shoot with the photographer? if you're having one? I am a little nervous about our photographer he has absolutely amazing photos and we are paying a small fortune - costing almost as much as the whole ceremony and reception! (lucky we're not having a big wedding) but he has a kind of presence that i am just not sure of yet....I want to lose more weight before the photo shoot but am also dying to know if we will have a good rapport on the day, i think its going to be another 10-12 months before I will know...

Hm, that's a tricky one. We aren't having a pre-wedding shoot but our photographer gets together with all his clients at least once before the wedding to help develop that rapport so everyone is comfortable on the day. Maybe you could do this with your photographer and put the engagement photos off for a bit. That way you will have a couple of meetings to get comfortable with him.

BMB we're getting married on the same weekend as you, our wedding is the 8th :D How far along are you with the planning? We have booked a photographer, chosen our reception venue and had the rings made but that's it so far.

Well due to my hassling the FH we've booked the venue, photographer, chapel and priest. We've decided on the invites, centrepieces/table settings, bridesmaids dresses and chosen our wedding rings.
Hahaha, i'm getting really organised

I'm feeling a little behind then! :)

I finally found another venue for our reception... Sea Spray Function Centre in Shellharbour (Wollongong). Have a tentative booking on it and will be confirming as soon as my mum can come have a look at it too.
Unfortunately my parents live in Cairns so I haven't been able to do any of the normal 'mum and daughter' things so far. We're having to squish everything into a weekend here :( But hey, I've got the best MOH and BM a girl could want so we're making the best of it :)

I've got a few weeks before I go back to uni so I'll start really doing some planning!!!

Hi and welcome. I was soooo tempted to have a Friday wedding so our wedding date could be 07/08/09 but we are having a morning wedding and most of our guests have to travel so it just didn't work for us. I think if you give people plenty of notice to ask them to have one day off is fine.

Hi girls, I'm a newby to wedding central. We are getting married on 22nd Aug 09 in canberra which I am worried will be a little cold. I have booked church, priest, reception and about to book the photographer.

Good to share some ideas and see what everyone is having.

Welcome Nomy. We're getting married on the 8th on the South Coast about 3hrs from Canberra. I'm a bit worried about the cold as well but I'm planning to wear a little faux fur coat for the outdoor bits and I'm hoping that the church and reception venue will be warm enough.

Enjoy the forum :D

Haven't thought much about it but maybe the begining of May. That gives people 3 months and we've already told most people unofficially anyway.
