Hey Brisbanegirl...

OT here... but just wanted to say that your two boys are a similiar age to my two boys. My oldest is 2years, 3months old and my youngest has just turned 9 months old :)

I wonder if yours are as much of a handful as mine are !! *LOL*

Hi Lovely Ladies,
I hope that you are all wonderful and everything is coming along well.
I just wanted to ask everyone about order of services, have you done them yet? 8O
It's something that I haven't started and only really thought about it this week! I was thinking of having a practice run this weekend.
Boys have suit fittings on the 16th of May, should be interesting and then my first hair trial is the 5th of June!
Talk to you all soon,
Mardi. :D

Ok I got together a list of things left to do... It's really scaring me! I hope I can do it all in time :?

* Bridesmaid jewlery
* Sort out the style of cake with FH's cousin the cake maker
* Buy all our grog, we are providing out own
* Do the order of service
* Book in venue for our wedding night
* Book in honeymoon - we can't decide :( and wanting somewhere on a $2,500 budget, it's really hard :(
* Organise the suits - How much time do the boys need?
* Seating plan - have been doing rough ideas already
* Bathroom kit??? If I have time
* Buy myself a bag
* Buy Flowergirl head piece - If anyone know of a really good place let me know!
* Organise the hiring of the caterers equipment and heatlamps
* Buy my underwear
* Sort out name change kit with celebrant
* Get FH onto organising his buck- he know he is camping and where but hasing msg everyone yet
* Get mine and FH's teeth whitened + my fillings
* Organise MC's list of what to say
* Booklets
* Transport from the wedding reception to our hotel
* Food and drink for bridal party for photos (I will be ordering closer to the day from woolworths these really yummy salad and meat wraps on a platter)
* Rehersal dinner - when and where
* Closer - final count for caterer and decorator
*Song choices - have a very good idea here so not too worried
* Wording of the ceremony - got the 400pg book to sort through from the celebrant
* Also have 7 extra wedding invites to post out
* And 14 more hens invites

I do know what I am doing with 80% of it, just have to organise it and get it done.

Is this really bad compared to everyone else? Should I be freaking?

Hi Haylele,
That is some list!! I think that by writing it all out like that, it looks worse than what it is! I'm organising the boys suits soon cause if they don't have them in Darwin they need to be bought up, and I don't want this happening the day of the wedding! Which I know has happened to a couple of other Darwin brides.
The shopping part is fun, so don't worry about that!! I'm sure you'll do great and have an amazing wedding. :D

Mardi- Sorry hun, not having OOS's, so no help there.

Haylele- Hmmm...I think it looks worse written down LOL My list is about half of that, only because of no bridal party, no MC etc etc!

Had a great time testing out cakes, but tried quite a few variations, and ended up feeling a bit sick  Cake flavours and design confirmed  ....yay!

I've done mine - (not fully though!). I've done up our OOS ready to email the priest. Also I've made all the covers - got a bulk pack of white glossy A4 paper from ebay, and tied purple ribbon in bows tightly around each cover - ready to slide the printed inserts into...

Mama, great to hear about your cake tasting!! 8)

Hi Lovely Ladies,
It's a long weekend here in the Territory so I've started a list for my Mum and I to do for the wedding while we have time!!

We're going to have a trial with the lolly table to make sure we have enough jars and plates (yum, I'm going to stay away!! ),
A practice with the chocolate fountain I got for Christmas,
An experiment with the order of service,
Look for some shoes for the boys for the wedding,
Talk to our florist,
Talk to some family friends about cars
And in general work out what is still left for us to organise  .

Music is another big thing, I think we've decided that our ipods will be used, we can make play lists we like and give the job to a friend who won't mind at the wedding! (Don't worry, I've already got someone in mind and I'm not going to ask them the day of the wedding, they will have enough notice to say no!! )

Have a great weekend ladies, I'll take some photos of the lolly table to see what you all think.
Mardi. :D

all this talk of lollies and cake!!

yum yum

my FFIL added a few ppl to our guest list last week, so sent off a few extra invites this week...have been very slack with other wedding things... but really should get a move on!! not long now...

FH has a friend who is travelling form Canada to Bali for our wedding, who is suppose to get married next week in Mexico... poor things have had to cancel... I don't know what I would do if that was me... eek fingers crossed nothing happens in Bali/Indonesia again anytime soon!

oh I'm getting my wisdoms out later this month...

all these other non-wedding things keep popping up!

have a good weekend ladies...

can't wait to see lollies and hear about cake...

Hey there my fellow winter brides, I've not really discussed much about my stuff so be prepared for an onslaught :D

I was just doing a little tally tonight of everything I have for our elopement and I have realised that all I need to get now is shoes !!! That's it !!!

The people who are organising our elopement in Coffs (they are our photographers) have organised everything... the accomodation for us (Aanuka Resort), our celebrant, the hair and makeup, the bouquet and obviously the photography.

From the things that I need to organise, I have on lay-by..

The wedding band
The dress

I've bought...

A garter (cheapie from Spotlight)
A small tiara attached to a comb... not headband (also from Spotlight *LOL*)
A corset to help shape my body under the dress

I also already own the jewellery that I'm going to wear.

I've bought a couple of red hair extensions because I'm absolutely loving the look from the attached photo (I found this pic on WC... so I don't know if it is someone here or not). My hair is brown, so not sure if it will have the same effect. I'm not having any red on the dress itself, but I'm going to get red shoes to complement.

So I still need shoes (unlikely to wear again, so looking for cheap - we have a DFO type complex only a few kms away so will try there). We also need to get FH's outfit and shoes (going for a semi-casual look) so that will be the next mission.

We heard from our celebrant tonight and he has emailed a revised copy of our ceremony outline (2nd draft). The wording was pretty good the first time around... but we asked if he could include a passage that acknowledges that our relationship has produced two little boys (who sadly won't be there to share the day with us).... so he has done that. Effectively, that's also something else to tick off the list... yay !!

We're not having a reception as nobody even know we're getting married.. but we are planning on having an informal 'do' at our house a month or so after our wedding (we're going to be out of the country, cruising the South Pacific with family on a P&O crusie for the first two weeks - this is where most family members will find out about our marriage... suprise !! *LOL*)

Phew... Longest.. Post.. Ever !!! :D

Brisbanegirl - I've seen quite a few of them in online shops, but not in "normal" shops (I'm in Canberra though)...would love to get one but they were quite $$$. They look amazing though!!!! Good Luck with your search :D
(Oh, I ended up going with a little white jacket, as I found I got quite hot with stockings, undergarments and dress!)

Hi Ladies,
No photos of the lolly table set up sorry, I didn't even thing to take photo's, I'm getting so lazy with things, I can't wait until July 24th!! Mum and I didn't get lollies to try with which was a good thing, it was bad enough talking about what I want!!
We had some laughs with what we thought we should have and what would be better to have, I wanted chocolate overload but it is Darwin and realisticly (can't spell!!) they will melt, so we've come up with other ideas but still having some chocolate so that's good!!
We also did the order of service, it's only 4 pages, a thank you, naming the bridal party, a reading that I found for my friend to do and a little quote about love and that was it!! It looks nice and I think it's all we need really.
Hope you are all wonderful, fab and fantastic.
Mardi. :D
