although he did point out "I'm helping and I'm not even whinging!"

Sounds like something my FH would say too LOL

All I have left is to...
-get my re-growth done next week
-pay our honeymoon place, celebrant, kids entertainment
-pick up wedding bands (they'll clean my e-ring and other jewellery on the spot for me)
-buy glowsticks for the hen's night....which is next week, on friday the 26th June :bdance:

Gosh, a few weeks ago our lists were all huge 8O

I'll be offline for a few days, we're going camping/fishing at Jindabyne! Should be great fun, and they've forecast snow...we'll be rugging up bigtime! Hope you all have a lovely few days....see you thursday xo

It's already the 17th of June. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
I think we're ok, just trying to stay on track with healthy eating, drinking lots of water (so my skin doesn't breakout!) and touching base with suppliers.
The weather here has been gorgeous and I hope that it stays this way for the wedding. Fingers and toes crossed.
It's great to hear your updates ladies, it makes me feel secure in what I'm doing!!
Talk soon,
Mardi. :D

Hi girls !!

Not long now for some our brides... I'm getting nervous for you guys already !! :D

I think most things are organised now except that I won't get my dress until mid-July. I'm so paranoid that I'm going to get it and it will be too big (or too small.. even worse !!). I just wish I had it now so that I could relax a little... but no. I got my wedding ring off lay-by the other day which was a little exciting (I put a couple of photos in my S&T) but it will be a few weeks before FH gets his.

Unfortunately for me, everything won't fall into place until the very last second. I'm a total control freak... so this does not bide well for me.

Hi Lovely Ladies,
Well this week has come and gone, I can't believe how quick time is going. I have been sick since Wednesday with a head cold. I keep thinking to myself that it's better to have it now than next month closer to the wedding!
My Mum and I ordered out lollies for the lolly table last week, I'll take some photo's once they arrive. I'm excited!!
We're off to see the florist this weekend, just to touch base, see what she wants to do with the table settings and finish the payment.
I have our final photographer payment to complete then I think we're all organised. It's crazy but all very exciting at the same time.
We're going into the reception venue sometime soon as well to touch base (make sure our booking is still there!!) and to talk about the table arrangements. I think we're going to have long tables of up to 20 on each, with only 100 people, it will reduce tables and make the area more open and fun for socialising!
I have my hair trial on the 10th of July, I'll take photos!
Talk soon,
Mardi. :D

Great updates girls - time is certainly moving now! I love hearing where you are each up to with your planning!
Lets-Elope - *fingers crossed* for you! - How long should you have between your dress arriving and the day?
Mardi - great to hear your plans are all coming together!
Mama- how was your camping trip??

I picked up my dress today from alterations today - it's home ready to go.
I bought some beautiful 'Thank you' cards to set at reception place settings for people who have helped with special tasks on the day. Also paper and ribbons to wrap small thank you gifts.
The place cards and seating arrangements are done - already in zip lock bags ready for tables.
I've sent off my final cheque - I had to chase the florist up with a couple of phone calls as she left over $100 off the final invoice  It was annoying chasing her to giver her more money - I hope she appreciated it...
Also I bought a bunch of blank business cards to leave on each table as a guest book - I have an album ready for them, and will ask my BM's to collect them together on the night. Hopefully this will be easy and people might take a bit of time with them...
I'm setting about putting the menu's together this afternoon...
We had some dramas with ordering cuff links (had to put a credit card dispute in with the bank); and have got some more today.
I collect my ring from the jewelers and it's much more sparkling now - I hadn't realized how dull it had become!
TO Pay: Hair and make up for the girls on the day
Donation to the church
Money for family BBQ the next day...

Hi Girls,

All these updates are great...makes me excited for all of us, WHOHOO!!!!!

Camping was great, got a few fish, ate lots (LOL), had a sleep in, didn't think about wedding stuff!

Mardi and Sl, sounds like you guys have everything under wraps....how exciting to be finalising! Lets_elope, that must be very frustrating with your dress, hang tight!!!! Everyone is getting increasingly busy, aren't we!

We've now payed everyone and finalised everything, all I've got to do until the night before is let the beauty preparation begin...
My hen's is a week away 8O, and I've got a few things ready for that....flouro pink nametags, glowstick bracelets...the rest has been gathered by everyone else, so I'm curious to see what they come up with! My outfit is ready and waiting...I'll get my hair coloured and eyebrows waxed and a spray tan early next week. Really looking forward to it, I've been blessed with some wonderful friends and it will be awesome to catch up with everyone and have a big girly night out. Also looking forward to giving my Mum a few cocktails and getting her to run amok for once

Well, thank god it's friday, I'm off to curl up with some movies and FH, and some take-away!

What is everyone up to over the weekend?

Hi everyone,

21 Days to go this time in 3 weeks I will be putting the final touches on and getting ready to walk down the Aisle. I went and tried on my wedding dress last week and burst into tears I hated it. ( Bridesilla look out) My Bridesmaid and The dress lady were fantastic they helped me calm down and then changed the straps to my dress with my eyes closed adjusted the length and then Wow I loved it again. LOL I think I was having another moment. I think everything is done now. Because we are getting married on Hamilton Island and aslo having our 13 month old Christened on the island the day before we have to pick up every thing up a few days before so we can leave on the wed for a sat wedding. All good nails tan waxing and hair all booked beofre I go. Dress and decorations ready to pick up so all Jewellery shoes hair style etc all done . Have to pick up the boys shirts from the dress maker this week and we got these grrovy hand painted italian champagne flutes with a retro design on them to pick up as well $18 each couldn't ask for better. Honeymoen in Tassie for 3 weeks all booked just need clothes to combat the cold now. Going from Cairns where I dont even own a jumper to the snow in Tassie will be a bit of a shock but looking forward to it. Taking the 13 month old with us and leaving the 10yr old evil step son at home with his mum. I think I am more wxcited about having 3 weeks away from him than the actual honeymoon. I can't seem to load any pictures so I can't show you anything sorry if you hav tips for up loading please let me know.

Hope everyone is going well and thanks again for bearing with me thru my meltdown a few weeks ago :)

Cheers

Bindi

"Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed,
Something Blue, and a Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe".

This good luck saying dates back to Victorian times and many brides try to arrange their wedding attire accordingly.

Something Old represents the link with the bride's family and the past. Many brides choose to wear a piece of antique family jewelry or a mother's or grandmother's wedding gown or handkerchief (see above).

Something New represents good fortune and success and her hopes for a bright future in her new life. The wedding gown is often chosen as the new item.

Something Borrowed is to remind the bride that friends and family will be there for her when help is needed. "Borrowing" is especially important, since it is to come from a happily married woman, thereby lending the bride some of her own marital bliss to carry into the new union.

Something Blue is the symbol of faithfulness and loyalty. Often the blue item is the garter. Brides of ancient Israel wore blue ribbons on the border of their wedding cloths to denote, love, modesty and fidelity. These are ideals still associated today with that color. Blue also denotes the purity of the Virgin Mary and is the most popular of all colors. In ancient Israel brides wore a blue ribbon in their hair to symbolize their fidelity

A Silver Sixpence in her Shoe is to wish the bride wealth. Some brides still place a penny in their shoe during the marriage ceremony. "

Hi girls... not long now 8O

Something old - This is a hard one for me because other than my mother, I don't have much family (no brothers or sisters, both grandmothers dead, both grandfathers have no or minimal contact)... and being as it is a secret elopement, I can't really ask my mother for anything (though I doubt she'd have anything anyway). The ONLY thing that I have found is a brooch that I assume was given to me when I was born (I'm in my mid-thirties so it's definately old :D ). It one of those baby brooches with the name of the child engraved on it and has a little bluebird on it and a little chain attached... do you know what I mean? Anyways, I was thinking that maybe I could pin to the inside of my dress or something.

Something new - pretty much everything :D

Something borrowed - The only other person in this world that knows I'm getting married is my good friend Jacinta who is a member on this board and goes by the user name of Cin. She has lent me a bangle/bracelet to wear (photo is in my S&T). Bless her !!

Something blue - Think I'll just go boring on this one and wear a blue garter.

Penny in the shoe - A little secret here, but my name is Penny.... I think that will have to do !! *LOL*

Buffiness - Not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I'm having a red streak in my hair (also hair extension). So I'm happy to see that someone else likes the same thing.

Something old - I am wearing a pair of my nanna's earings, she passed away when I was 5.
Something new - My dress, shoes, necklace.
Something borrowed - I want to borrow a bracelet from my aunty to wear, if not my nanna's engagment ring which I'll wear on my little finger.
Something blue - I want my Mum to sew a blue ribbon into my dress, it was something nanna did for mum and my great grandmother did for my nanna. :D

I can't believe the time, it's a month and a day until my wedding!! I'm having dress issues at the moment, I love it but the bones are sitting funny and are sticking out, they have done it all along, it's only now that my mum and I are annoyed with it!! Because it's off the rack we're not too worried, we're taking it to a dress maker to see what they can do. Fingers crossed, they can cut them a little shorter so they don't stick out.
You all sound so excited and organised, can you believe that time is nearly here, I can't wait to be married!!

Oh girls! Lovely reading your latest posts!

Mama- tickers!!!

Lets_Elope - lovely about Cin lending you a bracelet for your 'something borrowed' - I'm hoping to borrow another bracelet from mum to cover this one. When I asked she also said she has a hankie that her mum (my nana) gave to her on her wedding day   Yay! I was really hoping she might have something sentimental like that tucked away...

Buffy and Lets - I can't wait to see how your coloured streaks look in photos!! - Very cool

Waited 8 years: what are the crystals you are having in your bouquet?

Mardilea - when is your appointment for your dress? No I can't believe how quickly time is going now. For some reason I was thinking I had 2 weekends before the wedding - was a bit surprised to see my ticker just said 10 days... Guess I'm getting married: not this weekend, but next!

We have a bit of a drama here - my dad got admitted into hospital last night - so *fingers crossed* he's all recovered in time to walk me down the aisle... :|

Slwedding, I hope that your dad is ok sweet. I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you.
My dress is now with the dress maker, she thinks that if she changes the seam around the bones it should sit better. FINGERS CROSSED!!
Mum and I are calling her next Friday and if not I'll just wear it like it is! I love the dress and have looked at others and don't get the same feeling so I think it's a winner!
Hope you are all well and getting excited, I know I am!!
Mardi. :D
