My name's Rachael, I'm getting married next October... And I'm a wedding photographer. By far the question I get asked most since becoming engaged is " who's going to photographer your wedding?!". Being a photographer and knowing a little bit about this stuff both helps and makes me over think the whole thing.... And actually choosing a photographer for our wedding is one of the hardest and most important decisions so far.
SO I thought it'd be useful to some people to share what a photographer looks for when they're looking for a photographer for their wedding...
Here's my check list ....some of it.
Overall is the composition good?
Is there consistency through out the last 10 or so wedding?
How lovey-dovery, cheese posey, Creative, interesting are the bridal portraits? Is that us?
How are they handling reception coverage with lighting etc?
Do we both like the editing?
The "will i like these in a two years" test?
Is it the shooting style we both want?
Personality of the photographer?
Are they passionate about what they do?
Contracts details- anything we're not ok with?
Price vs budget,
The packages- is there one with what we want,
Hourly vs fulldayer
What are some other things you thought were important when choosing a photographer?
