No way known ... Why wear something that was from a special day of your past & why would you want reminders.
New beginnings warrant a new dress

Wouldnt, and couldnt wear mine again..... was married in 93 last time, so the dress is dated. Then at some point after we separated and I was moving houses - I just threw it in the bin :) It actually didnt feel bad to toss it away!

This time around I am having the most georgeous dress designed and made for me, and in such a style that I can wear it again. After the wedding am getting it shortened to a cocktail length. :D can't wait!

I am actually selling my dress on this website so I'm not doing this myself, I was just asking if anyone had done this or would, don't worry I am not re-using the dress... but if anyone wants to buy a beautful dress feel free to view it - Under Victorian Bridal Gowns called "Gorgeous Strapless Dress 12/14"

Cheers :)

I'm not a 2nd-time-wedding person anyway, but just thought I'd comment... all of the replies to this post seem to assume that the dress carries bad memories/bad karma from a relationship gone wrong. If the reason for a 2nd marriage wasn't because you were divorced, but widowed, would you still find it as wrong?
Personally I don't think its a good idea to do it in that situation anyway (it'd make your new hubby feel like he was living in your dead partner's shadow) but just wondering what people's opinions would be if there WEREN'T bad memories of the past relationship holding you back.

OOO good question Smee? I'm not sure! I think in those circumstances it would depend on the relationship you have with your new hubby and how he feels about it. If your new hubby is comfortable with the situation and the dress was still what you liked and wasn't dated etc... I probably would but I really think it would depend on individual circumstances. No matter if it was the dress or some other small token I would think you would want something from your late hubby present as a way of respecting the old relationship and having his blessing for the new.

Being a second time bride, I also considered this very briefly, before deciding that was not a good idea and had the wrong conetations attached to it. Whilst my first marriage was only a few years back and was very brief, I could have had my gown re-made, but losing 30kgs has made me realise I've shed the old me and it's time to start afresh and I didn't even consider anything similar to my old gown when I actually chose my dress.
It's personal choice of course, but to me it just didn't feel right.

New dress, new life together etc.... :D

Im not using my first wedding gown but im thinking of using my shoes that i used, is that tacky? It's just i went to buy a pair to go with this dress and they were pretty much the same. Since i am getting married on a beach i will only be using them for the reception so i guess it was the penny pincher coming out in me
