Half Up Style with Veil

Postby Dandelion on Wed Nov 04, 2009 1:10 am

Anyone have any photos to show how this is do-able? Especially back view photos.

I have lots of half-up style inspirtation pics saved, but none with veils. I just spent an hour trawling through the Hair Style sticky and the Veils inspiration thread without much luck.

I always pictured having my hair half up for my wedding (love the loose, romantic look) but I also want a veil to sit at the back of my head, probably fairly low - I won't be wearing it over my face. I don't want a tiara but I do want a pretty hair clip to go in the back. I'll be taking my veil out for the reception but want it for the ceremony and photos - I can't imagine *not* wearing one.

ETA: Something like this - but a back view:

I'm afraid I don't have any pics of this with a veil, I think the reason why they're hard to find is that most of the pics are to show the hair style, so the veil isn't put in for the shot and after it's in the front view is more important, or there isn't a veil at all.

It sounds like you have the same problem as me. I have shoulder length hair and i want a half up style but also with a veil. The best way to hold my hair is by using a barrette style clip, but because the veil will have to go above this to stay in place the clip will be hidden while the veil is in. I'm going to try to get around this by having a clip and veil specially made so that the veil attaches directly to the bottom of the clip and will hopefully be able to be removed for the reception. I've still got to contact people to see if this is likely to work though.

But if you don't mind the clip being obscured by the veil for the ceremony/photos, you can just have your hair styled however you like then the veil can be put in above the point where your hair is secured and it should stay in place fairly well, then just slip it out for the reception.

This was my hair trial. The girl said that on the morning they would fit the veil and comb I have. The comb will go in the side, and the veil underneath the twirly bits (looks like a bun a bit but its not) and it will stay in place until I'm ready to take it out. The hairdressers have a way of fixing them in place - don't worry! Sorry the photo isn't as dark on my phone as it is here.

Yep, that's exactly what I want! I have my eye on a stunning clip from Etsy that I still want to see even when the veil is in, without it being a big problem to take the veil out after the photos. I'm being difficult aren't I?!

This is what I want, but I also want to see the clip

Thanks drink, but here's the catch where I am being super fussy - I don't want a tiara or anything that sits at the top of my head! I was thinking of something to clip in at the back or at the side at the least. I know, I'm a pain! That's why I am having so many troubles finding the style I want. I think I may have to put the veil over the clip. :?
