Sending you my best wishes hun, doesn't sound pleasant at all, hope you start feeling better soon. As for taking sick days, if you aren't well, please take one. Much better than being in a terrible state at work. I used to feel guilty about taking sick days too, but I got quite run down last year and my boss gave me a (nice!) blasting for not taking them. You need to look after yourself. :e_hug:

I took the sick day and the boss was like "Yes I didn't think you'd be in today" which at first I thought was a crack at me being unreliable (cos she's a nasty person  ) but turns out she's had one done and wasn't right for work the next day either. So that was good. And after spending the day feeling like I'd swallowed a giant, flaming pineapple I understand why people want time off! Back to work tomorrow but I think they'll understand if I take it a bit easy (not jumping up and down out of my chair all day like I normally do).

Glad to hear everything went well mate, and that your boss was ok about taking the time you need! How long until the results are in, so to speak? Or are they already done? If they are, hope alls well and treatment is relatively easy and effective...

Glad to hear you survived. I had the same deal in May and I ended up having ulcerative colitis which is all gone now thanks to 3 months of suppositories!!!! What fun that was everynight.

Heres a heads up for next time (hopefully there won't be). If you can't stomach the liquid bowel prep, I got the capsule form, it was still hard but I would rather swallow 60 tablets than drink that stuff, yuk! Yeah so I had to swallow 5 capsules every 15 mins till all 60 were gone!

I did not know there was a capsule option! I'd have definitely taken that option!

I won't get biopsy results til next Thursday at the earliest... but since then, my stomach has flared up worse then it has in a while. I went out briefly this morning and had to come home really, really, urgently quickly because my butt was about to explode   Have been too scared to go out again. I haven't been this bad in aaages, and have been back on the Nexium too shouldn't that prevent this from happening? Could the whole procedure have caused another flare up or is it a nasty coincedence?

I dont know hun. But the procedure (and the stress involved in worrying about it) would more than likely cause a large flare up on their own..?

Sorry I dont have answers sweet, but I have muchos interweb-style hugs for you... I wish they helped! :e_hug:

Good luck with it. I hope the diagnosis is not Crohn's because a close relly has it as well as my friend and I know it really sucks. (Understatement of the year there)

For my friend though, she was happy to hear the diagnosis because she could finally do something about it. She had been sick for months and no-one could tell her why. She was diagnosed last year so she would have just turned 27. My relative was diagnosed at about 25 from memory.

My husband is statistically more likely to have Crohn's than the average population (because of the family connection) so I have done a little research into it. It doesn't appear that he has it at this stage, which is good.

Best of luck and at least you will (hopefully) get a diagnosis and be able to start some kind of treatment plan.

PS.
I would say that the stuff did cause a flare up. My relly has been living with it for about a decade now and she knows the stuff that will cause a flare up but even still has them out of the blue every now and again. I have read that milk and meat can be bad, as well as smoking. Stress is also a big trigger!
