Traditional Chinese Medicine

Tue Nov 30, 2010 10:03 am

Has anyone used this and does it work? I am looking at seeing someone to assist with my PCOS and help us fall PG. Any Melbourne reccomendations would be great also.

I know a few girls on M are getting TCM for fertility issues so maybe try in the TTC thread there?

I went to a TCM before the wedding to help my anxiety levels and migraines

and also for my IBS...and it worked

Will be starting TCM in Jan before TTC for pre conception care and also to lengthen my AF :)

I've used acupuncture before for general health and wellbeing and it was a godsend.

I'ev also seen a naturopath who was crazily able to diagnose just about my entire medical history just by looking into my eyes and at my tongue. I didn't end up staying long with her as she prescribed my a zillion herbs and insisted I needed to spend $2000 on a mattress overlay (funnily enough, all the herbs and the overlay were made by the same company :e_think:) so I felt like I was just a money-maker to her. Having said that, if I got a good recommendation for another naturopath I'd be there in a second.

My cousin used herbs and acupuncture when 10 years of TTC and IVF weren't working for her. She now has a son!

TCM is Traditional Chinese Medicine...they use herbs and accupuncture....

They can also help with lessening labour, thinning the cervix to aid in birth, helps with MS, migraines, IBS, helping your body get back into a rhythm, helps your body ovulate.... anything and everything.

I have my first appointment Jan 5 and want to get pre-conception care for my body to get myself ready.

Hope that helps :)

I was going to go in January but don't need to now!

I know of a really good one my friend is seeing with her TTC journey. It is on Doncaster Road, Doncaster. Let me know if you want the details!

Im going to try it early next yr. My cycles are over 40 days at the moment, but I'm just waiting to get some $$ together to be able to afford regular appointments.

40 days is normally a sign for PCOS CB - have you been checked? (mine are only 32 days and I have bad PCO/S)

I dont think I have PCOS - wouldn't a pap have picked up cysts before? I don't seem to have any other symptoms except for acne, but I had that before I even got periods (and it seems to be in my family).

I really don't need PCOS if I already have VVS. :(

I hope not CB but you can actually have PCO - which is just the cysts on the ovaries, without all the symptoms. They didn't pick it up with me on a Pap, it was all on a scan. You can see the cysts covered in ovaries (it looks like a pearl necklace).

BTW - what is VVS???

Indeed. It has pretty much completely ruined my marriage. Maybe TCM may help
