Hisense. That's ours. It's basically a Panasonic, comes out of the same factory. But, it's been a very popular brand in hotels for decades, and only recently began selling to the public. They have the best warranty on the market, which is what sealed the deal. Three year replacement warranty, no stuffing around with sending it away to be repaired if something happens. It's broken, they bring us a new one. So far we've had absolutely no trouble with it.

Yeah Hisense is the one we are eyeing! However the majority's vote is Samsung. Hmmm...
We have heaps more time to shop around, and we're waiting for new catalogues to come out pre-Xmas.

We bought a samsung LED about 6 months ago, it is absolutely fantastic!!! We also got a free surround sound system with it, and we bought a blueray player and a DVD HD recorder. This is the second samsung we have bought now, the first one was good too, never had any issues with it just decided it was time to upgrade. I would have absolutely no problem recommending samsung to anyone, they are great. The current one has an LED backlit LCD screen which has amazing picture quality. Also has a fantastic refresh rate so even panning pictures are smooth. We looked at many many different brands and styles and picked the one we bought as it had good pic quality, low power usage, high refresh rate, and is 1080p which means it will play high definition at true high definition unlike some which don't play high def as well which was very important to FH as he likes online gaming and wanted something that can keep up with the cable Internet and not lag.
All in all though it comes down to whT you want it to do and what you prefer the look of.

we have a samsung 50" plasma, brought over 2years ago and love it. No problems at all, which is weird for me to say as i usually hate the brand when it
comes to selling their whitegoods, would not recommend buying any whitegoods from samsung to friends at all.

Also a little uknown fact is that a lot of the Sony TV's and Sausung are manufactured by the same factory, they have a deal in that Sony will realise the new technology first
and then 6 months later Samsung will realease the same product badged as Samsung onto the market at a cheaper rate. It is amazing how much stuff is the
same thing just with different company names on it. I see it a lot in the industry i work in.

Well guess what??

On Saturday, we bought a Hisense 47" LED TV for $999 at The Good Guys. Only managed to bring it home on Sunday after three attempts with three different cars!!! And then 5 hours into watching it, there was a loud bang and POOF the whole TV blacked out and it won't turn on!!!

Oh No DYP!!!! Thats not good! But at least you have warranty!

I have heard of Hisense but see it as an el cheapo brand that doesn't last to long. We have a Sony Bravia for our big telly downstairs - I love it. and for my bday dh bought me a samsung for the bedroom also a pretty damn good tv. Always stick with a well known brand for tvs they may cost a little more but they tend to last longer and if something does go wrong their always quicker and easier to deal with.

Hisense couldn't help us out as they don't have our TV in stock, neither does Good Guys.
Looks like our only option is to get a full refund and then we're back to the drawing board!!

We came home and tried to plug it into the wall socket directly, it still didn't work.
Got on the phone (again) and was on hold (again) and finally logged a job for a replacement TV. It may take 2 weeks or so for a TV to be delivered up to Darwin, and then an agent has to book a time to come to our house to assess the situation and if necessary, replace the TV.

Back to old fat *** CRT for the next couple of weeks!!

It's funny you say that, we only buy those sorts. Lol. We had a large old boxy Celestial (Panasonic workings), which thanks to open windows and unpredictable summer storms was flooded three times. Let the old thing dry out each time and it's still never missed a beat.

Thats impressive
