Yep. Another vote for Dyson from me too. I've had mine for almost 6 years and it's still going strong. I'd recommend getting one with the turbine (spinning) head. Great for carpets. I've only had to replace the head on it as my ex roomate broke it  other than that I can't fault it. At least you can buy parts for it online if you need to :)

Hoover Core - recommended to me as cheaper than Dyson and just as good - no problems, I've had a few people tell me that Dyson is good, but overpriced

Another vote for Dyson. We've had a few cheaper ones and do not compare. Definitely worth the money - The Good Guys often have them on sale.

Yep totally Dyson, the only thing I would say bad about them is that I've heard bad things about the upright models, I have the old DC23 and I  it, well worth the money (eventhough Kevin07 bought it for me :) ).

I'm Miele all the way!

It's the best vacuum ever, we have had it for 7 or 8 years and it's still as good as new (and we have a cat that sheds a ton!)

I'd only ever used Vax cleaners and loved them, until I moved in with FH and used his Dyson! :D
