Buying off the plan

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has advice for buying an apartment off the plan? We've found one that we really like and think that it's quite good because it gives us time to save while it's being completed. Has anyone had much success with bargaining when buying this way? I would like to offer 10% less than what is being advertised as I think that'd be a good price. As much as I like it, the current asking price seems a bit much for what it is. We're meeting with the real estate agent this Monday so any advice before then would be appreciated.

Thanks :D

my advice would be to stick with a price. If you only want to pay X then only offer X. It's very easy to get caught up in the emotion!
good luck Monday chickie - hope they accept your offer!

Research the company and find out what you can about their financial status. You could lose everything if the project goes bust.

I work in property law and in my experience the price is always less once its built in the market then you pay at the time. Allow for decrease in market and good luck :)
