Modern wedding vows should include no online flirting...

Thu Oct 04, 2012 10:02 am

New article about wedding vows reveals that...

Survey of 1200 Australians reveals modern marriage ideas and ideals
"Until death do us part" rejected by 34 per cent
"In sickness and health" most important part of vow for women

So ladies, your thoughts? What part of the vows were most important to you, and are you or did you 'death do parting'?

Ours were...

I Mr LIW, take you LIW, to be my lawfully wedded wife
In the presence of these people gathered here today,
I vow to love you and care for you
For as long as we both shall live.
I take you, with all your strengths and weaknesses.
I will be there for you to turn to, and turn to you when I am in need.
I choose you as the person with whom I will spend my life.

Personally I feel all of our vows were important, but 'I will be there for you to turn to, and turn to you when I am in need' really sums them up IMHO.

I refused to have the sickness and in health as Mr LIW get the worse man flus ever and I would prefer to boot him outside when he is moaning....

It'a bit concerning that women feel that their husbands might wander if they become ill.

I know a lady who has survived cancer (thank goodness) but while she was on chemo/radio, he was off with someone else from work...his excuse was that "it wasn't the same anymore".

Well, of course it isn't! She's battling cancer, for fk's sake, it's a life or death situation!
