My lastest piece of wedding advice... wait until 6mths out from wedding date before picking bridal party!!

That's the best advice I've heard/read so far. I'm happy with my choices, but still kinda wish I'd waited. Will definitely be passing this gem onto anyone/everyone I know who gets engaged.

I dunno, I think it depends on the person. Some people have a few close friends, others have a ton of good friends.
If FH and I had met and married when I was 15, I would have picked the same 3 girls who I've got now (at 21). One is my sister and guardian angel, one has been my best friend since we were five and the third is my closest friend from high school who has been with me through thick and thin ever since. There was never any question in my mind of not asking one of them, or of adding someone else. In fact, I think they would have been hurt and offended if I'd said "I haven't decided yet" when it was such an obvious choice. On the other hand, if you have LOTS of good friends but no super-close friends, it makes more sense to wait and see who you would feel most comfortable with on the day.

Although our wedding was beautiful I too have many things that I wish we did, or remembered to, or wished someone had told me etc...

One thing for sure is that I should have practised sitting down in my dress before the wedding... On the day my dress ended up being very cleavagy (if thats a word lol) and when I sat down it was even worse! I was nearly falling out on the way in the car and some photos make me just cringe! lol

Wish I had made a list of the photos I wanted.. i didnt even think of this one. Our photographer was amazing, but there is just some things that I wish I had.. for eg;; I didnt get any one on one pics with my paige boy, or my maid of honour... or even just a nice one with my mum. I also didnt get any one on one pics with my closest friends yet I have millions of my DH family... people who I didnt even know... not the photographers fault at all, but I wished someone had told me to write a list... or at least searched for advice on the forum

I also wished I had more hair trials.... my neice was my hairdresser and is very relaxed non stress person and told me it will be alright on the day. Well we had a few dramas and she couldnt work out how to do my hair... I was almost in tears but luckily we had her boss there to help with all the other hairs she ended up taking over at the last minute. Wasnt exactly how I wanted my hair but it was ok. Also.... wish someone had told me to practice with the veil in your hair as well.... we ended up shoving the veil in at the last minute and it wasnt how I wanted it at all but because my hair was all up already we couldnt put it in properly. I purchased a gorgeous clip to go over it but you couldnt see it on the day! ahhhhhhh

oko.... think thats enough for now!!! besides all that whinging lol... our wedding was beautiful! lol

Spray insect repellent on your flowers - we were outside taking photos and the flies were driving us and the photographer NUTS!
Thank god for photoshop.

I didn't wait six months before my wedding to pick my bridal party (and the wedding would have basically been here if I had).... my bridal party was just my sister and my husband's best mate and it was PERFECT.

Thought of another though...

* Make sure you take an emergency kit - I was dieing for a nurofen (headache) but couldn't get hold of anyone to bring some after the ceremony.

I also wish I had've taken the right tablecloth for the cake table (it didn't go to the floor) but c'est la vie, can't change it now! I only noticed the next day anyway!

this is awesome ladies!! we have just picked out my engagement ring so waiting for him to ask then will be getting married next year. we're having a small simple wedding with 35 guests and the advice i have read has helped me alot! thanks again!!
