Table name ideas

Postby Kay S on Mon Sep 25, 2006 8:08 am

Just wanted to share my idea for naming tables at a reception. My FH and I wanted to come up with somehting unique but still maningful to the both of us so we are naming the tables after characters from the LION KING which was the first movie we watched together....also happened to be on the first night we met.

thats lovely
we're doing table names like - love, devotion, eternity, etc
we're not doing place cards though - just putting guests on table *eternity* etc

Tables

We were also going to have table-only allocation, and have each table with a colour theme, so guests would be on the green table, etc. In the end we can't be stuffed and people can sit wherever they want! But it's a great idea!!! :o :)

I like that idea, but how to guests know which table they are at? Do you put a list on the table?

I was thinking you either put a list at each table, or a sheet near the entrance which people can refer to?

I've been thinking of basing mine on different flowers (which I can tie in to the table decorations), i.e. orchid, rose, carnation, lily, etc
Counting down until Dec and then TTC!

I have heard of ppl naming their tables on places that were special to them, with the stories on the back of the card...

eg - darling harbour , with a picture and a story on the back
- so and so beach etc

sweet idea. Lots of effort though....and very personal.....

we actually found it easy - only took about 30 mins to come up with the names (I think I actually got the idea from another WC member  )
I just had to make sure our table list was clear with the venue list!

FH and I were thinking of doing a similar thing. We are going to do places that are special to us. have the title, underneath a pic and then a small description of what it means to us.

First Holiday together - Keppel Island
First REAL Date - International ballet gala (qpac)

you get the idea. Know all we have to do is think of all the others to put on the tables. Though I guess I should work out how many tables we are going to be having. :D
