Design your own hardcover guest book...

Postby ladysibyl on Sat Nov 07, 2009 7:28 pm

Hullo ladies!

I would really like to have a personalised guest book with our own questions and stuff in, but I'd like it to be a nice hardcover one, maybe even leather bound. If push comes to shove our stationers will do a guest book to match the rest of our stuff but it'll be softcover. Anybody have any ideas where I could get one made to my own specifications??

You could look at snapfish they have 40% of their photobooks till the 16 Nov. You can write or put some pics in. they have leather hardcovers. Their quality of print of pics is ok but for a special album i choose clickonprint a tad dearer but paper is thicker and photos a tad crisper

I did mine through Click on Print because they were fast. I will upload the guest comments (lined page) if you are interested in the template.

I am lucky because of what I do for work that I could get the graphic artist to design my front cover so it matched our stationery. :D

But I am pretty good with photoshop myself (ha ha modest too!) so if you need a hand, let me know.

I am pretty sure this is the one that I used... (I made a few)

It has a left hand and right hand side. The image is of the right hand side because the margin is bigger in the middle. If you want a left hand side just flip the image.

To download, click the Download link up the top (it says Full Screen, Share, Download).

I can modify it if you want, I have the photoshop file. :D

My guest book was in full colour but it just looked too much to have colour on the comments pages too.

Most of the software allows you to write on the pages. This should give you a better look as it shouldn't save the text as a picture.

We did one for friends of ours that got married a couple of years ago and we did it through Office works.
It came up great and they loved it.

We are going to do a book each for our parents after the wedding.

I've found photobooks are easy to source, but haven't had as much luck with just a normal book with writing in.
That Click On Print looks promising tho!

I just made the template up (it's an image file - jpg) - it can be used in any photobook, not just Click on Print.

If you have a while Blurb looked awesome but they are in the US so shipping might take a few weeks. I just ran out of time...
