Ceremony guests only

Sun Jul 28, 2013 1:12 pm

Due to limited budgets, we wanted to allow as many people as possible come and witness the ceremony but can only have 50 people at our dinner/reception due to the capacity it holds (and budget) so we have decided to have drinks in the garden after to make them feel more a part of the day in the same place we get married for about an hour or so, then do photos, then onto the reception with family and very close friends.

So...
1. Should the ceremony only people get a save the date too? I just don't want them to put the whole day aside..(I assume they shouldn't??)
2. I'm worried about how stingy it might seem to have just drinks, but the budget won't stretch very far, should there be food?? It's a 2.30 - 3.00pm ceremony, drinks till about 4.

I think that's a great idea!
If you wanted you could do a pretend Cake Cutting/Photo and serve a spare slab of cake to your Ceremony guests

You'll probably get mixed responses but I think its ok, as long as the guests are aware of what exactly they're invited to.

No to save the dates. Only send invites.

I'd try to serve some food. I've seen cookies and slab cakes go down well.

I woudln't do a fake cake cutting.
