Lace invitations

Postby bec_7 on Sun May 04, 2008 1:05 pm

Hi girls,
Looking for invitations that are a bit different, and are elegant with either black (to match bridesmaids) or white lace. Looked everywhere but nothing's jumping out at me yet. Looking for a price under $4, or one i could look at and DIY.
Thanks!

A few online invitation places will send you out a free sample of the invite that you like - I did this and studied how it was made and have began to make my own, incorporating my own touches (and the one Im making has lace on it also).

we're doing a combination of these ones (the lace)

and this one (the pull out cards)

am struggling to find paper though. i know exactly what i want but it's quite expensive, though all up it'd still turn out to be about $3 per invite so it's very cheap really!!

Hey Princess bride- I would appreciate any tips you have on making these- yours look stunning.
With the lace does it wrap around and glued on the inside of the cover or is it just glued to the edges of the front card?
Thanks

Thanks :D I found it was best to wrap the lace around the edges. It gave the cleanest edge. Also glue the lace slowly do it a step at a time or else it will warp. We glued the front middle first and then the front edges and then wrapped the edges and glued them, letting the glue dry in between each step :D

did you then stick another piece of paper over the inside to cover the lace?
