Hi Everyone,

I'm getting married in Doonside, near Parramatta, so I'm sort of a Sydney wedding!!!

I was just wondering, where are you staying the night before the wedding? I'm trying to find a spacious suite for our preparation and pre-ceremony photos.

Also, where are you spending your wedding night??

Hi Megapod... im getting married in Doonside too! Would yours also be at Nurragingy Reserve? Thats where we are holding our ceremony and reception.. Lucky for us our package includes our wedding night accomodation at the Four Seasons in the Rocks... Really beautiful place :) Im not too sure of where in the area that you could get ready before... If your not wanting fancy, there is a travelodge near by in Blacktown or the Chifley at Eastern Creek? Thats about all i know out that way...

Hi ladies. I'm new around here and could really do with some help! FH and I are planning a wedding around March next year in Sydney. We are having the ceremony near circular quay and would like to have the reception nearby. Can anyone recommend a reception venue for lunch for about 70 people? We are hoping to spend about $120 per person.
Thanks!!!

QVB tea room (or gunners barracks) is about $110.

Yes, we're holding both ceremony and reception at the Colebee Centre.

We have just booked an apartment in Parramatta for the night before, so that is one less thing I have to worry about.

Now for flowers............. 8O

Hey all,

My name is Natalie and will be getting married in March 2010 and we have booked the reception for under 100 people at the Stamford Grand North Ryde, does anyone have any feedback on this place? Has anyone been to a wedding there before? Are there any other sydney brides here getting married around the same time?

Hi Natalie, I have never been to a wedding at the Stamford, but my mother stayed there for a weekend away once. She said the rooms were lovely and the service was great.

Good luck in the wedding process

My brother had his reception here a few years ago. It is a great location with a relaxed outdoor setting which the main room looks out onto.
The staff and food were great and there is also a cafe/bar open in the afternoon if people have time to kill before the reception starts

After going to see Bill from Sweet Connoisseur and tasting his delicious cakes, we or should i say i have decided to go with him for our wedding cake. We have decided on a 3 tier sugar iced wedding cake with a more traditional look by having the sugar flowers with thin ivory or white ribbon amongst it. Not sure about the flavours yet because all the ones we tasted were beautiful....mmmmm yum! We are definitely going for the 2 flavours layered in one tier option.
