I would try cakes of distiction as they would be proper cake toppers. They may cost an orm and a leg tho. Otherwise spotlight will sell wooden letters. I think bunnings may sell wooden letters in their craft secrion as well

I think places like Judy's bouquet and little wedding shops like the one in Allentown hire them, if not sell them. But as stef said it would be cheaper to go to spotlight or Bunnings

Hi ladies, I was just wondering if anybody brought their supplies for their invitations in Rocky? I went looking for some stuff yesterday so I could start mucking around with ideas but couldn't find anything that I wanted apart from ribbon. I went to spotlight, and the newsagents in both the shopping fair and northside plaza.

Hi, Naneek's Invitations is a shop specialising in invitation supplies. There in Main street North Rocky. Other than them I know that Stylish Events & Hire in Allenstown also have invitation supplies

I get all my paper supplies from the City Printing Works. Much cheaper than the newsagents. They also have invite samples and what paper they made it from as well. You can also buy the sheets individually or in packs, which is great because some newsagents only sell by the packs.

Have to say I had much the same experience as you Leonie... but its good to know there are a couple of other places to try too (Thanks Steph and lilithgirl!). I'm actually experimenting with some things from Vistaprint and Cards and Pockets at the minute... I love the idea of making my own invites, but when I think about the time factor in it all, I've decided I might need to get things printed up somewhere and then add my own little embelishments to it...

Thanks Steph and Lilithgirl! I shall check them out tomorrow.
Kareena- I've decided I will make our invitations mainly because I like crafty things like that and figure it can be a holiday project. I am probably going to buy the pocketfolds and then add to them and print my own stuff.

Just to let you all know, I went looking today for more invitation stuff and Naneek's Invitations has actually closed down :( . I went to City Printing works and got some paper samples to play around with but no patterned paper really jumped out at me.

Have you tried the scrapbooking stores in town? They would have something thats a bit different. Might be a lil more expensive tho.

Just thought I would let you know that Naneek's haven't been at Main Street for about 12 months they moved to mall in Allenstown opposite where Dew's used to be. As far as I know they are still open. I got my invitations made at City Printing Works (owner is a family friend).

Yeah Steph, the scrapbooking shops are my next stop. Although I might leave it until closer to when I want to make them because knowing my luck it will be discontinued.
Emm80- I actually had their Allenstown address from those bridal packs/or the expo but I couldn't find the shop. So I rang the number on the card and the lady told me they had closed down due to not enough business and a few other things. The lady at City Printing Works was lovely today, so depending how I go I will probably end up buying card from there.

I went to a wedding at Kershaw House last night. The gardens are very pretty, lots of flowers. Ted Tait was the celebrant- I thought he spoke a bit quickly. The food and drink were very nice (the little dessert cakes were sooo good), but because it was a buffet, they ran out of the mains (lamb, fish and curry) by the time my table went up- we had ham and salad. So if you're having your reception there, make sure they work out the food properly. Also they didn't cut up enough cake, so hardly anyone ended up with some. The room itself was lovely and didn't need any decorations. The sound system was good too.

I made our first wedding purchase today (outside of the deposit for the reception etc). Given we're getting married on the beach, I've had my heart set on getting some Tiki torches to set up as we're walking down the aisle (see inspiration pic below)... on an unrelated trip to Sam's warehouse (that was about my sanity & 3 kids on school hols) I found some for $4 each!! Yay!! They actually had 3 different sizes - I stuck with the larger ones... but thought others might be interested and want to know... beats the $15-20 each I was going to have to pay to hire them - and I can do them up exactly the way I want before the big day :)

Now I just have to find somewhere to put them out of the way of 3 kids bored on school hols...

Where they painted white already or are they the normal wood ones? Pretty sweet bargain if you ask me. You could then put them up in your backyard as a reminder of the day lol

They were the normal wood ones... but they're kinda what I was thiknig I wanted anyway - all the chairs etc will be white, and I thought the natural wood look with some greenery and flowers would add some colour and go with the beach area! I was really happy with the price - I bought 6 - and yeah figured the same thing, even if I had too many we've got plenty space in our garden for them, and we can keep them after the day - can't complain for $4 a pop :)

That's an awesome bargin Kareena! I  the warehouse. Congratulations on buying your first wedding item, I haven't had the chance yet. They would be fairly easy to paint if you did decide to go white for them.

Love to know this answer too! I could only find glamour or fashion photography here. I emailed Aislinn (Aislinn photo art) and it's something she's looking into doing again (she has done it in the past) but couldn't give a date when she was planning to introduce such packages again.

Try AM Austen Photography - I THINK Michelle does it. She is based in Yeppoon though from memory.
