Oh my god, so stoked. I won a $1000 prize to spend at Spurlings for suit hire! Pity wasn't for a dress but my FH is pretty happy! A wedding expo paid off and I never win things! Anyway not much new stuff just nutting out details like hiring a bus for our guests, bought my wedding ring and paid the deposit for our honeymoon. Showing my mum a couple of dresses next week so fingers crosses I buy one.
This post has been a bit quiet but I'd love to hear from everyone on their up-coming weddings!

I'm getting married in Toowoomba in July.

Does anyone know of a good baker/cake decorator? Someone not too expensive but I still want a nice cake.

Also, how about hair and make-up? What are the good package deals out there?

It's all starting to come together - my dress arrived recently and I'm looking at flowers now (artificial silk ones), the venue is booked (Platform 9) and the honeymoon planned.

:) :)

The best-priced cake person I found in Toowoomba was Kay at Sugar & Lace (she works from her home in Campbell St). Her cakes were lovely, well-decorated and tasted good too.

I won't recommend you my hair and makeup person because I'm currently having no end of trouble contacting her in the last couple of weeks, which I'm hoping is not a sign of anything I should be concerned about. But what I found with hair and makeup is that there aren't really too many packages where you save much, and most places are much of a muchness on price anyway.

Hi Rocky
I got married at Woodlands last November but used Toowoomba based hair & make up ladies that came to us. They were fantastic, ( we also used the same hairdresser when my sister got married in Oct 09).
Hairdresser is Analiese from Analiese Designs http://www.facebook.com/pages/Analiese- ... 9108828381
Make Up - Jemma Head (Nap Make up) 0437 210 300
I couldnt recommend them enough.

My daughter is most likely going to be married (April 2012) at Happy Valley Retreat at Stanthorpe
Anyone on here have any experience with them?
Its a big decision because they are 2 1/2 hours from us, but its exciting! We are currently looking at suppliers for some things up that way, although some will be done in Ipswich/Brisbane and transported.

We got married yesterday!

Just really want to say that we had exceptional service from:

Hogan's Jewelers
Weis Restaurant - Everything was set up in the area where the cafe was and everyone loved it.
Donna Mitchell Art
Casar Elegance - Wedding Dress
Preston Chapel
Merivale Cakes and Crafts
Event Illusions
Floral Memories
Platinum Stylists
Joan Kavanaugh

The only hiccup of the day was the day was that one of the bridemaid's dresses zip broke as soon as we sat in to the car. All I will say is that these dresses weren't from Casar Elegance and I wish that I had bought them from there.
