It looks awesome, cant wait. I showed the website to fh (why did i want his input?) and he was like "oh yeah, what else is there ?" so i started searching through all the holiday houses on different real estate web sites then he says "which one do you like?" so i show it to him again and he starts raving about how nice it looks and how i should stop looking cos thats where we are staying. grrrrrrr :x
oh well happy now cos i got the place i wanted after all. :D

Hi all NQ brides

I Just thought I would add a post here as I will be returning to Townsville for the first time in a long while to attend a wddding in September. First time in a Bridal Party :!: sure will be something different but it will be good to get back up north. All I know is that the reception will be held at Seagulls, I hope their seafood is still the best.
Best Wishes to you all with your planning and your special Wedding days.

Peter

Hello Everyone :D

part of our honeymoon was spend in Townsville. We stayed at "Jupiters Casino"
Townsville is very pretty, loved the waterfront, also lookout was amazing on top of the hill.
"Magnetic Island" was just perfect for lots of privacy and quiet swimming and good food.

Hi Kitten
Glad you enjoyed your time in Townsville. Magnetic Island is big enough if you want some privacy, and was a perfect choice.

I think the Townsville members have all been washed away in the Wet Season up there?

Peter

Hey lovebug. We're getting Janine's Cake Art to do our cake.

She does have a website, but the link to all her new photos of cakes is no longer on it. (There's only a few photos of her older cakes - and they're not too appealing, well to me at least!)

She has a couple of albums of fabulous looking cakes in her shop, but you can't exactly just pop in there can you?

We're getting a round three tiered mud cake (choc and white choc) and its costing us $403.65 - this doesn't include any sort of topper though cos we don't know what we want.

Here's the website (but it doesn't do her business justice!):

Ohhhh yeah lol I just got my wedding dress from here well a month ago anyway and couldn't be happier with it. I was suprised actually, I went up to Cairns (as my family is there) and thought they would have more range. Didn't find anything i liked so was pleasantly suprised when i went to Melinda's, the woman was fantastic just pulled a stack off the racks after i described what i was after and the types of dresses for the price range i was after were fantastic. Ended up with the dress of my dreams, can't wait till Oct 6th to actually wear it hahaha.

They had to get it in from America for me but that only took 3 months... I will have my dress like a year and 1 month before I am getting married lol :D

Hey ladies,

I actually got married in Townsville on the 30th of June. It was a perfect day and everything went to plan... the weather was gorgeous and we had a ball! I actually live in Canberra so had to organise everything via the net or when I made my visits home for christmas and other events. I would love to recommend everyone of my vendors to you. These are the people I had:
Reception venue: Townsville German Club
Church: Holy Spirit
Ceremony music: Had a friend but could give the details to anyone if they want it. Had pianist and a soloist.
Cars: Hired from Thrifty (they have a special wedding package)
Photographer: Donna Larcom from Northern Exposure Photography (pics look fantastic)
Cake: Janines cake art and calligraphy
Flowers: Silver wattle florist (my flowers were beautiful!)
Stationery: A Craft affair (was a little unhappy with some of the other ones so highly recommend this place:))
Rings: Loloma
Bombonerie: Coco rose chocolatiers
Shoes: Infatshoeation (at Annandale)
Grooms and groomsmen: Status
Dress: Bought in Sydney from Abbey Bridal (definitely worth the trip if you can afford it!)
BM jewellery: Shona's lingerie
My Lingerie: Shona's Lingerie
Hairdresser: Monique (has a salon at calcium but came into town to do our hair for a great price and did a fabulous job!)
Wedding night accommodation: Jupiters
Honeymoon: Castaways at Mission beach

Here is my WA site if you wanna see some pics and Vendor info. Hope thsi helps some of you out there! :)

Thanks SAS84 :D I am getting my cake thru janines cake art too!
To all townsville people can anyone tell me what kind of temperatures i could be expecting late afternoon/night in early september? We are having the wedding ceremony at 4pm and an outdoor reception at 6pm. I wasnt too worried about temperature just assumed it would be fairly warm but some of the guests are quizzing me now.

I think around that time of year it is minimums in the high teens and the maximums are mid-high 20's. It is a beautiful time of year then :)
