Hi All
I am in sunny Mount Gambier and getting married on May 21 (Yes it's a Friday) We are marrying in a quaint federation B&B in the gardens or on the covered deck depending on the weather, we have two witnesses and our 5 children in the wedding party. Family only for the ceremony, then we are heading out to lunch with family and friends, and to celebrate we are heading to the races. See May 21 is Gold CUp day down here and the town pretty much stops for it, so we though ah what the heck lets celebrate our special day doing something we love "hopefully backing a winner" It's our second marriage and the five children are made up of his hers and ours so the day really was about the most important things to us which is our brady bunch style family and keeping things relaxed fun and informal. oh did I mention we brough the wedding forward for Gold Cup 2011 to Gold Cup 2010 lol we decided that to really fit in with our crazy hectic madhouse life that we could pull this off with just 50 days planning. All going great so far, dress arrived this week, suits are purchased, rings made, celebrant and photographer booked, friends and family flying in so super excited and relaxed this is exactly how we wanted it to be purely about us and the children and our official joinging of our family. We will be heading to Sydney for our honeymoon directly after the races weekend then next year we are hoping to shoot off to Spain.

has anyone been the the eyebrow studio in glenelg? i heard an ad for them on the radio and looked them up..http://www.eyebrowstudio.com/
eyebrow 'sculpting' for $15. i went to a lady who did eyebrow threading for $25 which was good but i want to try this place out. plus they have pretty good prices for waxing...might have to book a few things and if i like then i can maybe take the girls there for our pre-wedding waxing etc.

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me in regards to cars.

There seems to be a HUGE gap in the hire car department in Adelaide, rhere are either vintage cars (Jags, Daimlers, Bentleys) or the other extreme of pimped out stretch hummers. We just want a nice simple modern car, e.g BMW or a Merc.

Does anyone know where these cars are????

I have even tried going through the the Adelaide BMW club but they dont seem to have anyone.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi Girls,

I joined this site a while ago while I was helping my friends to plan their wedding and have been reading through others posts. Now I can finally join in discussing my own wedding. My partner proposed on Monday night over a candle lit dinner for our 7 year anniversary!

My ring is a family heirloom that came from my great grandma and I'm in love with it!

At this stage we haven't set a date but I'm starting to look around and plan. :D

Hi All,
I am in the process of getting some quotes for our wedding cake. The quotes have varied quiet a bit and i was wondering if people were happy to give an idea of the price of their cake and how many it feed.

We are looking at having a smaller 2 tier cutting cake and then a kitchen cake as we will be serving cake as our dessert. I have had quotes ranging from $230 up to $600.

Would anyone be able to shed some light on this for me??? I would just like to know if im being ripped off or not.

Cheers,
Bella

Hi Ladies,

A newbie to the site so hello to everyone :D

We are currently considering having our reception at Rydges South Park - just wondering if anyone has been to, or had their own wedding there?

We are really really struggling to find a venue that we like, so any feedback would be really appreciated!!

Hi Bella,

Our wedding cake is a 3 tier mud cake (2 tier choc, 1 tier white choc) which we are also serving as dessert for 80-90 people. The final cost was $300 + $30 for delivery, which I thought was pretty good : ) The cake is SO yummy - my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Good luck!

Hi. We're getting married on the 26th of March at Belair Park Country Club :)

Bella2283 - I dont really have any suggestions on a cake. I looked into them and decided they were wayyyy too expensive so opted for cupcakes (a grand total of $230) have you tried to google for people who makes cakes from home? They tend to be a lot cheaper.

As for Cars.. I am no help at all. We're hiring Statesman's from a hire car company. 1 for 1 day and the other for 2 days  it works out MUCH cheaper. But then again we're on a 10K budget so we're scrimping and saving where we can!

Does anyone know a place that custom dye's satin shoes? I cant find any shoes for myself in the right turquiose colour so thought dyeing may be the way to go.

check out this thread!!
its cheaper if you pick one from their website rather than a full custom made shoe, ( mine were full custom made design and cost me $80 )

thats a stunning cake!!!

hannah if you find their color samples chart get them to send you a few samples that you think look alike on the screen and then you can choose.

their colors do look a little different to what they are in real. my shoes were like fluro yellow ish, and on the color chart was a little dull and darker.

Hi Girls!

We are still in the organizational stages! but are looking to get married at the Cabra Chapel (FH is an old Scholar) and then having the function at Festival Functions Center :-) with about 120 guests. Can't believe just how hard it is to find a decent small wedding venue! :-) So excited! but so exhausting!
