Hey again,

Looks like MrsW2BE is getting married around the 23rd Oct! If you wanna get these PMC guys... BOOK BOOK BOOK!!!

I haven't got any photographers to suggest but I should be able to help with music! My brother is in one of the local bands down there and works at Hobart Music Centre so he's got some good contacts! Let me know what kinda music you want and I'll have a chat to him!

Hope this helps!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but good luck getting in contact with Jeremy Matcham. We got engaged in April 2009, and I emailed him pretty much straight away. I FINALLY got a reply in November!! Needless to say, I wasn't impressed!!!

Ok anyone who can recommend a nail salon would be very helpful to me right now. I really want to start getting my nails done but I have no idea where to go. I have looked at some of the bigger ones (beauty salons that do nails) and they all look good I just have no idea which one would be best.

Even if they don't specialise in wedding nails, I want to start having mani/pedi's and get my nails looking really good now so I don't leave it to the last minute.

Thank you
Cheryl

Hi peaches,

Thanks for the recommendation, I have no idea about nails (I let mine grow but they break and having so many children getting the time to keep them nice is impossible) I want to make sure I start going soon so I can find somewhere I like and get used to them. I am also hoping to be able to have my real nails, but will wait and see. I cant really have long nails because I scratch the children

I will give her a ring one day next week. Do you go to her or have you heard about her through someone else?

Thanks Peaches, it is nice to know that there are some good places out there.
I have been looking in the yellow pages and then when I go past place but it really doesn't give you and idea of what they are like, so it is helpful to get recommendations.
Some places seem to charge more than others and it doesn't mean that they are any better, which is the hardest part when you don't usually go to them.

Hi ladies!

Just popping in...

i am getting married in Tasmania on the 29th April, we are getting married at Cradle Mountain Lodge. I cannot wait!

Oh and to whom ever recommended PMC photography, i have to say a big thank you! I was originally going with Mark Seaton, but he has been promising to call me for close to 2 months, so i told him not to bother and last week, after reading this thread, i emailed Paul and thankfully they are available on the day and have been a lot more open in terms of communication and helping us get the wedding photography that WE want.

Anyway, thank you!

HI ALL

I am brand new to this site. I am a 22 year old Hobart girl. I have (fairly) recently got engaged to my partner and we are getting married on the 28th of August 2010. We have booked our reception in for Peppermint Bay including the cruise both ways departing from Hobart.

We want to get married in the city (Hobart) somewhere, preferrably a church (but not Catholic). Does any one have any suggestions for a central church or cathedral which is Anglican or other and is pretty as well? We don't mind the close suburbs such as Battery Point, South Hobart, North Hobart etc, but we would like it as close to the wharf as possible so it's easy for the guests to get on the Peppermint Bay cruise.

We also need a band! Any ideas?

ALSO, wedding cars ????

Have made lots of enquiries with photographers and got some good responses, just making a decision according to cost and experience etc.

Oh and I have my dress! Its from Ray Anne - http://www.essensedesigns.com/dress.php?id=5

I hope to be able to share lots of tips on this forum, it seems like a good one!

Hope everyone else's wedding plans are going well.

:D

OMG... this dress is gorgeous !

its the exact one my sister is getting, we both almost cried when she tried it on!

I have not had much luck with Limos - they all say they will post out some information and nothing turns up - talk about unreliable :x

Im not sure about Churches - im having a garden wedding. have you tried to google them?

Good Luck with your planning... post some pics of you in the dress when you get it !

talk soon

Hey HG31,

Gorgeous Dress! My sister-in-law 2 be got her dress from Rayanne too!

Although I'm on the NW Coast I know a few people and places down there from living there and having family down there so hopefully I can help some!

Cars... What are you after? Any particular style, make, model?

Band... What kind? Something acoustic or an actual 'rock' band? My brother plays in a band down there so I can get numbers

Churches... although I've never been in any of the 'big' churches down there, there are a few that are nice on the outside could be worth checkin out...

Anglican -

All Saints' Church, South Hobart
339 Macquarie Street

St David's Cathedral, Hobart
Cnr Murray and Macquarie Streets

St George's Church, Battery Point
28 Cromwell Street

Hope that helps... let me know if there's anything else!

Jess
