How many outfits at reception?

Postby ***bride2b*** on Tue Jul 07, 2009 10:55 am

Hi Ladies

Last night I went with my Mum & MIL to look at traditional Cambodian wedding dresses. They were so beautiful I've fallen in love with them all  The only thing is I'm debating how many I'm going to wear at my reception?!

So far my plan is 3 outfits
- Cambodian Dress when welcoming everyone at the front
- Once everyone seated & we entre I will wear my white wedding dress for bridal dance, cake etc
- Will change again into another Cambodian wedding dress

Just wondering for everyone wearing or changing into traditional clothes, how many outfits are you wearing at your reception or how you were planning it??
Any advice or opinions would be great!!

3 dresses just for the reception!?!?

You'll spend half your night getting changed!

Wi=ould you have another one for the ceremony as well? If so, I'd definitely stick to 2 dresses for the reception....

I had 1 traditional outfit I changed into. You'd be amazed how time really flies on your wedding day so if you are able to plan your reception to the tee I don't see a problem with having 3 outfits! Good luck with it all!

Thanks for your advice MrsKo2b.
Theres no worry in me changing from first dress to second dress, as thats when we enter the hall.
But the next change if I plan it at specific time say 9.00 pm, then I think it will work well

I'm thinking of having 3 outfits too: wedding dress till the cake-cutting (probably doing it earlier), then traditional dress for slideshow, toasts & games, and finally an evening dress that I can dance in for the bridal waltz. But it's still a bit early for me to work out the specific timings.

My sister had two during reception. I think anymore and she wouldn't have had any time to enjoy the night!
