What about a Picnic Style Reception and Wedding?

This is one of my favourite themes! I would love to do it myself but it does not suit my numbers.

I love the individual scones and strawberries - and if you had relatives who are a dab hand at baking this would be a great way to get them involved and save some money.

While to food looks divine - the decorations are wonderful! And you could easily pick up bottles and cut flowers from a friends or family member's garden to save if you wanted to. Mismatched ones would also work and add a more picnicky feel :)

I love the look of this beverage table!

More ideas :)

You can lay out mismatching or matching blankets/rugs with cushions for guests to recline on. I love the idea of an individual picnic basket for each rug.

Alternatively a picnic style buffet!

You could save money because the DIY and 'cheaper' options really work well for this wedding style. Empty jam jars with single simple garden flowers are wonderful decorations.

I suggested the picnic, and FH isnt up for that idea. I just dont want to spend lots of money in the wedding. We orginally were going to have a bbq wedding, but then we discussed who would cook etc etc. I would love to have a wedding at a park though. Then we were going to hire out a surf club hall but my mum said she wouldnt clean it afterwards.

So stuck for what to do, we need to decide as we wanted to get married in December

Where are you located?

I went to a wedding oh, probably 6 years ago now where they hired a spit roast and BBQ company who came in and did all the catering. It was really yummy and a lot of fun. Very casual and relaxed day all up. That one was done in their parents backyard but it was a decent sized house.

can you go to a restaurant or something where no one would have to clean up afterwards?

Is it worth waiting a few years to save money so you can afford the option of hiring caterers, cleaners? etc

LOVE the picnice theme but my very traditional italian mother, just wouldn't understand lol :D

We are in Sydney

Thanks for all your ideas. I think the picnic is the winner. Will prob have a bbq and a buffet table etc etc by the beach... All I am worried about is if it rains lol
