For those who chose the dream wedding package how did/will you advise family and friends they must stay at the hotel for the wedding night? And is it only one night they have to stay and a bridesmaid is already kicking up a stink about the cost (don't even get me started) am considering no bridal party

Summer love im not having a bridal party for that exact reason

A friend is a bridesmaid in Fiji and she is spewing that she was expected to go and no offer of anything to be paid for (like maybe half accomadation)

I dont really want anyone to feel like they need to be there, and everyone i have told thinks its lovely when its just about the bride and groom not the "bridal party" as such

I think we have decided to have no bridal party, we have a child and I'm a stay at home mum so can't really afford to be buying dresses etc for bridesmaids

Feel like a weight has been lifted

Great Choice!!!! You wont regret it!!!! I thought long and hard about it (bridal party or not) and thought i am having a destination wedding to rid half of the stuff that weddings here at home come with! Bridal Party being one of them!

It is a big ask for anyone to come espeically when they are asked to be in the bridal party, it may feel like they need to come!!!! I dont think they would mind if you said no bridal party! Most weddings i have been slightly stalking in Fiji and other destinations dont have bridesmaids anyways

Yep totally agree, it is a lot to fork out for them to even come so this way everyone is happy. I'd still like my bestie to make a speech, and maybe my partners two brothers also as they would have been groomsmen

The magic about getting married in Fiji is you can break all the rules or keep them. Its such a beautiful location and the locals are so so friendly,, that once your guests get there and see the magic of your day unfold, they wont care about what traditions you have left at home.

My father in law stayed at the Bedarra Inn down the beach from the Outrigger where we got married in May 2011. He just came up for the wedding and caught a cab back for about $3 so let your bridemaid do that if she wants but she misses all the activities or everyone being around. The Bedarra Inn has great meals if you want a change and i used Sue at Essence and cant recommend her enough - Sarah will tell you she gets married soon and i spoke toher all about it whe she was planning
