a wee problem?!?

Postby Guest on Wed Mar 09, 2005 10:32 pm

Hi I thought I might go anon on this one...sorry.

Just wondering if any of the other B2B on this site are worried about having to go to the toilet after the dress is all on etc. I have been told by some people to go to the doctor and get a tablet to stop me from going to the toilet during the wedding day. I'm scared about drinking anything on the day as my bladder can be quite weak at times and don't want to be running to the loo constantly!

Has anyone used anything like this (I don't know if its a diuretic or what) on the day or are you planning to?

Thanks girls!

I wouldn't try anything strange to avoid going to the toilet on your wedding day, the last thing you want is to spend your day in pain or uncomfortable or sick from some strange tablets.
Don't worry about it, I had FH...oops DH   hold my dress for me while I went to the toilet. It's no big deal really, if you're not comfortable with him doing that I'm sure a bridesmaid, friend or family member can help you that you feel comfortable with. It's nothing to be embarrassed about everyone totally understands...my dress wasn't even big and I had trouble! :D

I wouldn't worry about it too much........it's actually quite an experience - hehe - something that just adds to the experience of wearing your dress....hehe
But seriously, don't go starting to take something on the day, in the 'hope' that it will stop you going to the toilet. That could lead to disastorous effects that you don't need on your wedding day. Approach it as just something quirky that you and your DH or bridesmaid or mum can help you with :)
I was pretty much right after the 1st time, I had it down pat as to how I would "set myself up" so that I didn't need anybody's help.....hahaha......that sounds strange.......

But seriously I don't think you should worry about it........it's just all part of the day!

I went to the loo twice on my wedding day and funnily enough I didn't need any help and noone missed me...

I had a reasonably large dress - two hoops and a medium length train...

oh yeah and I wouldn't take the risk of taking something to stop you from going to the toilet - if your bladder is weak and it is usual for you to dash off then noone will really notice... as it's in your normal behaviour...

if you are really worried perhaps just try to not drink too much - but don't let yourself get dehydrated....

I never even really thought about this as I really don't think it's a big deal my BM's held my dress up for me so I could go to the toilet they couldn't see anything and even if they could wouldn't have worried me they have seen it all before.

I really wouldn't worry to much about it at all and I definately wouldn't take anything.

In our bridal room at the reception centre we had a very large bathroom which was a great help.

My dress was huge. Hard to decribe but basically you walk onto the loo facing towards it like you are a guy (best to arrange undies before hand) and then you squat. quiet uncomfortable but better than a little accident. Have your mum or BM's assist with the dress holding.

Going to the toilet is very natural, taking a tablet to stop you going in my opinion isn't very natural. So I would advise you not to take anything. My friend had a rather large (huge) dress and she managed to go by her self.

I hadn't really thought about for myself, but I think I will just slip away when I need to go and .... go!

I'm wearing a slinky dress so going to the bathroom won't be a problem for me, at least I hope it won't! But MOH had a bigger gown on than what I am having and as soon as she put her dress on she had to go to the toilet. Her mother helped her but that was mainly due to nerves, after that she was fine and didn't have to go the entire night!
