I didnt read the question properly

I put $300 and above because we only do a monthly shop. We usually spend between $300-$400 a month, and thats for 2 people, so it would only be about $100 a week. I make FH lunch to take to work and I come home for lunch, so that adds into it.

We normally (well I do as if it was FH it would be way more) spend about $130-150 in a good weekly shop with a few toiletries etc, we don't eat breakfast and normally buy our lunch, plus 2-3 nights of takeout as we have a busy schedule some times and can not be bothered cooking

Probs about $150 a week just on food. I follow a macrobiotic diet and I spend so much $$ on fruit, vegies and nuts grains etc etc. It's really really boring food too. Plus FH eats loads of meat so alot of money does go on meat alone.

$400 a month all inclusive - groceries, cleaning products, cat food etc.
The way we have kept it at this is...
* Meal plan each week. Means I know if i buy cabbage for chow mein, i have some leftover cabbage and can use that in another meal that week. Aiming for no waste. No throwing out food.
* Make a shopping list and stick to it. Only take enough money to buy what is on the list to prevent you from buying extras.
* Make as much as you can.
* Take lunches to work.
* Reduce how many takeaway coffees you buy. 3 a week at $3 each means $468 a year.
* Bulk buy and freeze in portions. We buy mince and freeze it in 300-400g packs.
* Bulk up meals with vegies / lentils
* Take an inventory of your freezer / cupboards / fridge and plan meals around it.
* We have just started a vegie patch. We have had success with potatoes and pumpkins. I've made litres of pumpkin soup and its delicious!!
* I stumbled across a savings forum that has given me most of these ideas and many more.

We started off spending around $150 per weekly trip to the Supermarket where we both became brainwashed by the glow of the fluro lights down the aisles!!...

This was pre wedding... paying our wedding off over the 8 months leading up to it really made us both rethink our finances, we now spend around $80.00 p/w saying that we do eat out on Saturdays as a our "crazy" day..

We use kidney beans/lentils and frozen vegies a lot to bulk up our meals, we do not eat pasta/potatoes/bread or buy soft drink.. I always get the specials for toiletries (i.e toothbrushes/toilet paper) on sale.. I have converted DH from a Sorbent only boy to the Froggy paper :P

I make bulk batches of soup/chilli con carne/curries for us to take to work for lunches, breakfast is usually 2 eggs scrambled in the microwave at work with some cherry tomatoes on the side YUM :D

$110-120 a week including everything (toiletries, cleaning products, etc). We take lunch to work every day as well. I make a fortnightly meal plan and then a shopping list for it. I cross off everything we already have and then buy the rest :D

gosh - we budget $500 for shopping a fortnight... sometimes we will spend upt to $600 if you include all those little trips for milk and bread etc.

We are a family of 3.5 (my daughter only lives with us 50% of the time) - Our grocery bill has nearly doubled in the past few year. We always shop at Coles... just the prices have risen, fresh fruit and veges are the worst!!! We do live 5hrs north of Perth though, which adds to the cost of EVERYTHING!! Freight they say
