Deep fried Mars Bars.

Sun Jul 08, 2012 9:45 pm

I first heard about these at least 10 years ago - they were first made in either Scotland or England.

I thought they sounded gross!

Now I've arranged with one of my girlfriends to share one next time we meet up - they sell them at the sushi train in Carindale.

Anyone tried one?

I am actually pretty excited.

There's two types of them, one type is coated in a thick flour batter (like the stuff you have on fish) and they're pretty good but the other type are coated in a sugary dessert batter and they are the bomb! I can't imagine anything worse for you but my god they're good, you have to have them hot when the nougat and caramel are all melty and yum! There's a lot of places that sell them now and as long as you don't mind a massive sugar overload and the 5kgs you'd put on just from looking at one :P I definitely would say try them at least once!

They are amazing - but they definitely don't go with the weight loss life styles I'm on now.

Amazing is all I can say - but you will only need one! They remind me of cross between a banana fritter and how tim tams go when you bite the ends off and suck your coffee through.
