Keeping guests off aisle runner

Thu Nov 08, 2012 3:17 pm

Hi there lovely ladies :-)

We are having a custom aisle runner made and I don't want anybody walking on it until the bridal party gets there. We are hiring bollards but I can still just picture in my mind parents letting their kids run underneath it and trample it. I know a wedding I just went to all the kids wanted to do was run up and down the aisle. There is the option of only having it layed out right before we arrive, but I kind of wanted it to be a focal point. The decorations are limited, and the runner is costing $1000 so I do want it on display. Is it rude to have a sign to remain off it? As it's black, it may get marked from guests before we even get there.

Any suggestions?

Thanks so much :-)

I'd tie it off with ribbon

I had my aisle tied off with a ribbon. It was lined with petals and candles and we did not want people scattering them before the ceremony. As it was, straight after i saw about 6 candles get kicked!
